Would either of these work? (give or take kinda thing)
hemsky, D prospect for tinordi (only happen if PK resigns)
or
MP and Petry, D prospect & 2nd for PK |

I growing tired of people suggesting that offer sheets are going to be given out to whoever. The fact is that the PLAYER has to be willing to sign that offer sheet knowing that they have to live up to the deal MATCHED OR NOT! So Montreal could offer Hall or Ebs an offer sheet. I doubt either would sign them. Why would they? - Iggysbff
To get out of edmonton? it is possible...a lot do not want to stay in that city for some reason. |

If you want an impact player you have to trade one back or give a crap load of picks. The usual suspects of PRV & Gagner will not get it done. But I saw someone suggest Omark, seriously? He has zero value, and will be going back to Europe to play.
Montreal would be void of quality D if they had to trade PK. The trade makes more sense for Edmonton. Although most would see giving the #1 over all pick for Subban too much. At least, you can argue with the riches up front, you can take these types of chances. |

Surely he could never match Dion Phaneuf in being overrated. - shinebox

How does Monteal have better weather? You do know that Montreal gets more average annual snowfall than Edmonton right? About double what Edmonton gets, as well, Edmonton averages more hours of sunlight per year than Montreal. So just curious how this better weather in Montreal works or is this just the typical eastern attitude towards any part of the country west of Toronto??? - ruttager17
a lot of severe thunderstorms during the summer |

Eberle loves it here. He plays top line minutes for his childhood favourite team, on a line with at least one close friend, on a team bursting at the seams with potential, in a city where fans just can't seem to say anything bad about him all the while being within reasonable proximity to his family in Saskatchewan. Also, he gets fed by a guy whose playmaking and vision have been compared to those of the Great One himself. What city can realistically offer enough of an overpayment to make him ignore all of that?
Hall, on the other hand, has a little more incentive to leave, although he seems wildly committed to at least winning a cup in the City of Champions. |

right.. there is a small percentage of leaf fans who are to blind to see how overrated dion is.. so i'll give you roughly 19% of that statement being right.
 - joel878
How is Dion overrated? Everyone thinks he sucks and is terrible. If that is the case, it is impossible.

I think you misunderstood. I do not think Dion is good, nobody does. So if everything thinks he is a bad player. He cannot be overrated. |

MTL would want Yaks +????
If the Oils GM calls Bergevin and says Yaks for PK.... Bergie won't hesite to say yes. - WaterBoy
There is no denying that Subban is on the cusp of being a mega-star in the NHL. He is becoming the player that you build around. If anyone does deny this then they are clearly delusional. My point here is that Bergevin MAY consider trading Subban for a king's ransom and nothing less. It would take something like Yakupov, Gagner, Musil, and a 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder to get it done. Now, of course this is my surmise however I would suggest it is close to what it would take for the Oilers to pluck Subban out of Montreal. Remember, just because someone was drafted 1st overall does not mean they will be successful and Montreal will never take the chanc of losing out on a deal like this. God knows we have seen enough of these young kids fizzle out over the years.
