come on......... . Anyone else hear his interview with the guys from the orange update? Guy sounded great. Treated those kids with respect even though they were amateurish...anyways good stuff. he goes into a lot of the personals with the flyers as well... Nice story about bobby clarke giving his family 150 box seats the first time he played in philadelphia. sounds like a great kid. If we dont trade for him, he will definitely be here in three years from the sound of it. |

Probably an incentive laden one year deal for around $1mm or so. I'd assume they'd be looking at him as a 3rd liner with some size and maybe a part time PP piece. - Jsaquella
On a cheap, one-year, bonus-laden deal, I'd be all for seeing him finish his career in orange and black. However, it would have to be with the mind that he's only a 4th-line player who can give you spot duty on both PP and PK and nothing more than that. The off-ice stuff would be where the real value of a signing would be, but on the ice, he's a very limited player at this stage. |

Then bring him here in three years. We don't need him. And if the reported asking price of Couturier and Schenn is even remotely accurate.....no thanks.
Any of the other deal floated out there..IE Read, Mezzy, a pick +....why would Anaheim take that deal?
From everything I have read, Anaheim wants too much. Ryan will not magically become a 40-50 goal scorer playing with Giroux.
It is just simply too much going the other way. And it will weaken the team.

Bryz gave up 6 goals in a exhibition game in the middle of the summer? We're screwed.
Anyone think that the the Flyers will be inviting a veteran free agent or two to camp, a la Blair Betts & Bill Guerin? - Jsaquella
you beat me to it
i think we'll see arnott |

I think there's a pretty good chance that Mike Knuble gets a tryout invite if he doesn't get a contract offer elsewhere before camp. - bmeltzer

I don't agree with this at all. Anaheim doesn't have to trade him. And if they don't get the deal they want he stays a Duck. |

i meant in terms of years not weeks. I think they can get him rather cheaply at the last year of hes contract if he pulls a staal. |

If we're talking strictly this summer, then I agree his price isn't going to drop. In terms of waiting past this season, I think his price goes down. Personally, I'm in the 'wait until he's a free agent' camp, unless the price changes dramatically before then.
EDIT: Leight |

man if the flyers can keep the kids together in three years and sign him for nothing. I think the timing for a cup run is perfect. |

NO way in hell Knuble can kill penalties at this point in his career, he can barely skate at an NHL level. OUtside of standing in front of the net on the pp, he really brings nothing to the table at this point and should probably retire.
Not sure why anyone thinks the Flyers need another forward, I would rather see them go into the season (assuming there is one!) with what they have and make a move for a defenseman the deadline. |

I agree with this. And if they feel they need a veteran guy I would like to see Arnott instead of Knuble. Arnott can still play a bit.
That being said, if Coots, Schenn, Read, Simmonds, Voracek all improve even just a little as a group, its a win. The season hinges on attention to team defense from the forwards, and Bryzgalov being more comfortable in net knowing he will play 65-70 games. I would also like to see Coburn or Mezzy take a step forward from the puck moving offensive standpoint. But if that doesn't happen, then Lavy will need to adjust the style somewhat to take advantage of the physicality of this defensive group.
