I am a huge Knuble fan and wanted Homer to pony up to keep him. Three years later, that ship has sailed. I dont see a spot in the line up for him, IMO
Knubes did provide the fodder for some great Lukin/MJL "conversations" |

Quick off-topic hockey-related question: In general should I expect to pay regular season prices for preseason tickets? Trying to nab Flyers tickets when they're in town to play the Blackhawks but prices seem ridiculous on Ticketmaster. Am I better off just taking my chances and holding off until closer to gameday? thanks in advance.

NO way in hell Knuble can kill penalties at this point in his career, he can barely skate at an NHL level. OUtside of standing in front of the net on the pp, he really brings nothing to the table at this point and should probably retire.
Not sure why anyone thinks the Flyers need another forward, I would rather see them go into the season (assuming there is one!) with what they have and make a move for a defenseman the deadline. - BiggE
Knuble's skating has never been good, but he's always been a decent PK'er because he's a) smart positionally, b) always gives max effort, c) blocks shots. Of course, he'd only be a secondary or tertiary PK option, much like he was this past season in WSH, and a 11-13th forward at ES.
I agree with the Flyers not really needing to add another forward at this point -- Knuble's name was just mentioned as a possible PTO candidate. |

Wasn't he too slow 4 years ago?
I'd pass.
As much as we want to "fantasy" wheel and deal here, we have a great team. I'd rather sign Arnott if we're going big and slow. - Daman
I'd be disappointed if Knuble made the roster on a tryout |

Interesting rumour on Doan:
Half the NHL would welcome Shane Doan if the unrestricted free agent left the Phoenix Coyotes due to their unsettled future in Arizona, but Doan has apparently narrowed his list of potential destinations to just three teams.
Doan will choose between the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks, writes New York Post scribe Larry Brooks, who goes as far as saying that "Doan is more likely than not to become a Blueshirt" if Rangers general manager Glen Sather offers him the four-year contract he desires.
And there's even a chance Doan take a three-year deal to play in the Big Apple, according to Brooks. If that's true, the Rangers could now be the favorites to land the 35-year-old forward.

I'm a big Mike Knuble fan. But he's likely done. I'd prefer that the Flyers hold all remaining Cap space to see what needs come up during the Season. |

If the Rangers want to give him those years at the cap hit rumored....I say go for it. Glen Sather should star in Real Housewives of NYC. He is obsessed with overpriced shiny objects.

I really do miss the days where we could just watch the Flyers spend as much as they want on whoever they want EA sports style without having to look at each and every deal through the prism of the salary cap.

I don't even want Arnott at this point. They have the potential for some physical issues with Timonen at 37 and with Meszaros back a potential issue down the road. I think they have enough for the regular season war. Bank the remaining Cap space and stay out of LTIR for the Season is possible. |

I would be fine with that as well. I think Arnott would help them team more than Knuble. The Flyers seem like they are pretty set on going into the season as is. |
