Good to see Brind'amour getting some recognition. hopefully we see him in the big hall once he's eligible, believe he has some years to go until he is. - JoeRussomanno

really not sure how i feel about it personally, but i lean towards no.
but there's absolutely no way he gets in ever. - OrangeBlack27
a selke winner, Captain of a Cup winner, holds some record I believe for shorthanders, holds Flyers franchise record for consecutive games played which I believe puts him in top 5 of NHL. Probably the best shutdown center to play for philly in the past quarter century.
they'll miss the heavy lifting dubinsky and anisimov did defensively - OrangeBlack27
The Rangers did exactly what they needed to do in my opinion. They were built too heavily on the defensive side and lacked balance to be a Cup team. Adding the dynamic of a player like Nash makes them a far more dangerous team.

Edit:that's two time selke winner btw. - JoeRussomanno
450+ goals, over 1,000 points. Plus winning a Cup. Not a lock but certainly has a good chance.

Not sure how the Pens are favored to win the cup over the Rangers. Dumb money finds a home
(probably unrealistic) Question: if the Rags get old man Doan for an estimated cap hit of 7.5M for 4 years, is there a chance that they wont have enough cap space left to sign Del Zotto?
Cap Geek has their current Cap Space at $11.6M before Doan. Del Zotto made $1m last year. How much of a raise is he due for?? How much is he worth? he is only 22.
Would it make any sense for us try to offer sheet him for a number that the Rags wont have space for???

I'm gonna go out on a school bus sized limb here and say the Flyers won't be offersheeting anyone for the remaining offseason.

I have no idea how the Rangers would afford Doan in addition to Gaborik, Richards, Lundquist, and Nash.... They wont be able to resign guys like Del Zotto, & McDougnah... and they are going to have to fill the rest of thier team with AHLers for the next 3 years...

perhaps but i think it's their style of play opposed to their composition of players. either way, the rangers could afford to make that trade because their prospect pool is in good shape with nhl-ready prospects. but, there's no denying that dubinsky and anisimov were very solid two-way players. going to be interesting to see how they make up for their loss, defensively.
