So LTIR is the same for players 35+ as it is for younger players? I thought there was a stipulation that the money from his contract doesn't show up as relief? |

Man, the more I think about it, the more I would like to take this year and rebuild. It's going to be tough to compete in this division when healthy, but with players already dropping, it might be better to get into a selling mind frame then buying.
If we could only get our NMC and NTC guys to waive thier clauses so we can get something for them. Timonen, Hartnell, and Briere. Hey Timonen, how about a year in Detroit? Hartsy and Briere.. how about joining Leino back in Buffalo? - SchennBros
Uh, ya, no thanks. This is still a playoff team.

Agreed...now that Mesz is injured, I also have a strange urge to trade away some of our top players in the hopes of getting other players who may not be as good as them. |

I'm interested in re-signing Hartnell, to a new long term deal. Not trading him. |

Subban is a fantastic and promising young blue-liner. Who wouldn't want him? |

Well bubble team IMO no offence but looks like there running with 5 shut down dman and 1 aging two way guy I see lots of problems getting the puck up the ice can't score with the puck being in ur own end all the time |

Ah okay. Thanks.
Well in that case I see the flyers signing someone to buy themselves some time to see how Mez recovery is coming around November-December. If it looks like he is done for the year then LTIR him and trade for someone. |

Will found out soon enough what this group of defenseman can do. |

Optimism tells us Williams came back from the same injury in February (tore his in August), and Zajac faced a similar dilemma last year.

It's August 7th. Plenty of time to make adjustments if necessary. |

He came back to soon and had to miss more time I think. I think he will be out till ASG. |

FYI, Homer would not confirm nor deny that Pronger was attempting a comeback in his interview this morning. Timmy asked the question. |

I think I would look at taking a Shot at Colaiacovo as well as looking at a possible trade with Winnipeg. Enstrom may have signed and Byfuglien maybe out of the picture. But Hainsey & Clitsome are all UFA's next year. Hainsey is solid while Clitsome has some Offensive upside. Or if we really wanted to unload some talent for the future Bogosian would not be a bad investment.
As Homer was already kicking the tires on trades, I think Mez going down opened the floor with another Defensive spot.
Needless to say, this all kind of sucks. |

Reagrdless, our D is still better than the Pens as is. Don't see why we can't compete and contend with the rest of the East. |
