Although Rozsival is coming off of a head injury where he missed 26 games. Sounds like a conky to me. - MJL
got laid out again in his last game by brown, too, no? |

they needed a guy before this injury, so to bring in another band aid is a waste. id rather rely on our current mix. |

Good to see the injury bug has gone away.... A torn achillies before camp even starts. Not even mid-August and here we go again.
Good thing they landed Weber. |

Actually, prior to the Meszaros injury, if everyone was healthy, this defnse corps was deeper and better than the 2008 one that went to the ECF |

Gotta be a puck mover. CC, Spacek & Roszival are puck movers, not sure Clark fits.
I wonder if the Flyers will be interested in Vishnovsky after the arbitration decides where his rights land. If he doesn't want to stay in NY, maybe they'll move him here - Jsaquella
sabres have an excess of puckmovers...jordan leopold plays a pretty solid game and is a top-four d-man...andrej sekera is another one who can eat plenty of minutes...
buffalo could use a third-line center like matt read |

I'd say they tried everything in their power to get weber tho without giving up franchise cornerstones, in the words of Mick Jagger "You can't always get what ya want."

Why trade Read?
They can sign Coliacovo or Jaroslav Spacek and keep Read |

I agree.. people on twitter are acting like the Flyers did nothing this year to get better.. They offered a max contract to the best d-man in the world, and two huge contracts to two other stars.. poop didnt pan out.. In Homer I trust. |

colaiacovo and rozsival aren't band-aids. they're very good players. why they haven't signed anywhere yet is beyond me (but perhaps rozsival is still concussed).

Heard the news aboot Meszaros on WIP this morning. Crushing blow. I think the best avenue for the Flyers would be to trade for another defenseman and sign Knuble. Does anyone know if Visnovsky was returned to Anaheim. I wonder if we could land him if so. Looks like Jaybo's value increased a little dispite the cap hit... Ugh. |

I just hope homer doesn't panic now. I think if worst comes to worse, just ride it out and see who asks their gm for a trade this year. The talent we do have is good enough to keep us in playoff contention. Personaly I'm going into this season with low expectations. Doesn't look like they can replace Pronger just yet, and will have to possibly replace Kimo, just have to see what happens.

just a thought...
there's a reason those two, along with rosival are still on the market with teams like philly, detroit and nashville, among others, looking for d-help...
y'all think schenn is a top-four d-man?
he was barely a bottom-pairing d-man with toronto |

The guy is 23 and has played 310 games over his first four seasons (77.5 games a year)... Also has potted consecutive 22 point seasons while being, realistically, a defensive d-man. He has led the NHL d-men in hits for the past two seasons and has a whopping total of 694 hits in his last 3 seasons alone. Im sure he will be fine.. |

I would like to see the Pens pick up Coliacovo.
This is a big hit to the flyers d. He seemed to be coming into his own last year. Guess when pens v flyers it will be high scoring all year since we both have no defensive depth. |
