yer killin me u can't be saying Howard is done are you? I can't give up on him. I got mad at chase this year but I'm still holding hope these two can be part of another pennant run. - JoeRussomanno
only difference is that chase is actually still really productive in every facet of the game when on the field. howard's only value has always been his power, which has been declining precipitously since 2009. |

Actually, if you go back to his MVP season, his numbers have been in steady decline since then. Pretty sad actually. |

you have a point there. he's not quite at the age he should be physically losing power tho. It's a shame we never got a full season of him with pence in the lineup. |

think maybe he's not getting pushed hard enough? Cholly is a rather player friendly manager. |

What is the deal with CC? Anyone know his game well? I just know he is injury prone, but hes been paired with Pietrangelo, top 4 minutes before hasn't he?
Irregardless with who they pickup (expect for possible trade), someone will slide into the top 4 that many of us won't be comfortable with. |

would have made no difference. think teams would throw howard strikes so they didn't have to face pence with men on base? pitchers don't fear slappy mcjackasses that swing at everything. |

it's been discussed ad nauseam on this board but I'll throw ya a courtesy and summarize: too injury prone. |

Yes, I seem to remember getting frustrated with him watching pitches going right down the middle for strikes, in big games too. Guy has the talent think perhaps its time for some self re-tooling. |

That and his sheer inability to hit left handers or hit opposite field. |

think the problem is more based around his complete unfamiliarity with breaking balls. it's over, dude. you don't remake your career at 32 or 33. hope i'm wrong. |

So it's August 7, and Meszaros is most likely out for the season. Simply stellar. |

Love Brindy and based on some of the other guys in the hall, you could make a case that he should be in, but thinking from the (likely dumb) voters' perspective, he wasn't a point/game player, only won two selkes (which were late in his career and not in his prime), and is a career minus-player. |

I also love it when you don't make sense, all except for the stupid voters, ex. Shero not in hall, otherwise good stuff tho
edit: despite being a negative player in the reg season he was a pos in the post season. Which makes sense when you factor in that he was on some bad teams for a lot of years, while conversely he was on good teams for the post-season. |
