His cap hit is an absurdity. Not to mention he would cost the Flyers roster players.
At this point there is no way to fix the defense this year. It's a mess at the moment. - PLindbergh31
Of all the Flyers Players over the years. Kimmo's cap hit and Salary have been the best investment and return Homer has made. Kimmo has rarely missed a game or a shift. He has been the Backbone of this defense. Yes even older on the last year of his deal. Best Move Homer's made getting him.
I think MAB and Gus will get some increased time and I'm cool with that. I feel we have brought them along slowly enough. Last year was the year of rookies & Sophmore forwards, now, let's see what our rookie D can do full time. I think between Gus, MAB, Gervais and Manning we should be able to find someone who can rise to the occasion. |

I think Schenn and Coburn can be one beast of a pairing. - pharcyde
But that would involve splitting up Coburn/Grossmann.
So throw that option out right away... |

Eventually? Who knows? I think THAT is why we were looking at Weber or Suter. Personally if he's still healthy, I bet Kimmo Resigns for a lower cap hit. Homer mentioned that was a good possibility. I don't think Kimmo wants to leave without a Cup. If Philly can keep putting good players around him and he can play, I think he will. |

Interesting food for thought. With Meszaros out, even with Giroux or whomever playing point. I'm betting Gustavson, Gervais or MAB gets a sersious look on the PP. Coburn and Schenn might get some time but they are really PK guys. Gus, Gervais and Bourdon have some better offensive skills. It should be interesting in seeing how that shakes out. |
