Nope, but finishing 37th in scoring among Centers does. I'll explain in case you can't see this..
The top 30 in scoring would be your first line centers. Therefore, Gagner finished 7th in scoring among Second line centers. Now, based on the fact that there are 30 second lines in the league, and each needs a center, the average would be 15th. When considering this, 7th is above 15th, therefore he is above the average.
ABOVE AVERAGE SECOND LINE CENTER. Numbers don't lie. - BarDownBobo
There's more than 30 second line centers in the league...Toronto has like 6 of them. |

the same can be done for gagner's favour.
gagner has 89 points his last two seasons.
Myers has 60 points his last two seasons.
Gagner makes 3.2 Million for 1 year and is a rfa after
Myers makes 5.5 Million for 7 more years and has come off his worst season - Oil_Addict
Do you understand the MONSTER contracts that D-men are getting every year now?? Look at Carle, Wideman, Weber, Karlsson, and Vlasic..
Having Myers locked up at 5.5M for the next 10 years is GENIUS! |

D is Sekera, Pysyk, Leopold or McNabb... Ennis still isn't signed... I imagine he is would be going the other way... RNH is the only guy on EDM that BUF is going to be after... so whatever we are thinking goes to EDm needs to be significant.
I am thinking trade would look like RNH and random prospect for Pysyk, Leopold, Ennis and Enroth.
We could sign Huet as a bkp for a season... Our new center depth?

Edmonton is loaded at wing, but with Nugent-Hopkins,Gagner and horcoff. I can't see them looking to trade centres right now.
They have a number of young wingers outside of the untouchable Hall,Eberle, Yakupov and Smyth
Ales Hemsky
Ryan Jones
Teemu Hartakainen
Magnus Paajaarvi
Tyler Pitlick
Curtis Hamilton
Mark Arcobelllo
Chris Vandevelde
Unless they're willing to take a gamble on Anton Lander, id say they're looking for a winger package for d-man swap |

You can't just look at points...the Oilers have played fire wagon hockey and meaningless games with no pressure to win (infact they are proud of losing apparently) Its much easier to put up points on a team that loses 6-4 or 5-3 ect. Much harder on a team trying to win games 2-1 or 3-2 like most good teams do.

The only comparable to Gagner on the leafs is Grabovski, 220 pts in 360 gp vs 201pts in 320 gp. |

It's not analogous because Myers is a 6'8" young, top pairing D who, baring injury, will be a norris candidate... Gagner is a 2nd line center... we have like 3 of those... we are not targeting Gagner. |

On Doan; Did I not say the almost exact same thing a few weeks ago Ek when it came out that he wanted 7.5 or 4 years? I said that was not his demand, just what one team had offered. I doubt he ends up signing for more than 6 per for 4 yrs.
On OIL/Sabres: The Sabres just made a HUGE signing bonus payment to Myers. I cant see any way that this is about myers. I hope its not Regehr. Cant stand him. The Oil are not sending the big 4 anywhere. And Gagner is likely not going anywhere without a center coming back. So amkes me believe its a combo of MPS, Lander and Harti that is rumoured.
I dont think PK will be back in Montreal. doesn't look like negotiations are going well and I think Montreal is hoping silently that someone makes a significant offer. - Iggysbff
$$ is not a factor for the Sabres when making a trade - it will be about talent/character that will make the team better. |

Gagner is also a small centre, who doesn't put up significant points even though he has played with some young guns on the Oilers.
Glad you used Myers shortened by injury season to better your numbers.
Lets look at the two full seasons Myers played:
11G's, 37A's, 48P's vs 15G's, 26A's, 41P's
10G's, 27A's, 37P's vs 15G's, 27A's, 42P's
Myers numbers on left...VERY comparable...One plays defence, the other 2nd line centre... |

According to ESPN stats... Gangner is ranked 50 in points per game for the center position.... That would mean 20th for second line centers by your thoughts..... Meaning gangner is a below avg 2nd line center... Average at best.... |
