I am thinking Gagner and hartkenen for enroth and Regher is most likely. Edmonton is desperate for a d and already planning on moving hall to center. Buffalo holds the cards. Enroth provides a 1B goalie and Regher some experience on the line. I hope they can do better than him but I don't think so. I also hope they don't have to go as high as Hartkinen and Buffalo are willing to give omark his shot.

Regher probably won't be included because of what we went through to have him waive his NTC last offseason. Aside from Myers, who's finally starting to get mean, he's our only quality "tough" defensemen.

(I don't qualify Weber as quality and McNabb may start the season in the minors)

I've missed A LOT in the hockey rumor department lately, but how the hell would Sam Gagner and Teemu Hartikainen help the Sabres? You're getting exactly what you already have too much of. An undersized center and a bottom six banger that MIGHT be able to play in the top 6 one day. So is that really an improvement?

I dont think the Oilers are really that desperate for D... what with the addition of Schultz and some fine prospects getting close.

Couldn't resist pointing it out. I think if the subban things goes down it be hall + coming back injuries and such subban has shown more in a position that most don't mature till later at.

No way will the Sabres trade Regher in August seeing what they did to talk him in to moving his familly to Buffalo.
The only way it will be Regher is if he asked to be traded. He has a NTC.

edmonton hated gagner last year. i remember he was not well liked most of the season. then he got red hot. didnt he get 8 of his 47 points in 1 game? i think he is the center and i bet buffalo is offering something like sekera and adam. gagner would be in our top 6. vanek, pomminville, coho, ennis, stafford, gagner. so i could see this happening. edmonton gets a quality puck moving defenseman with a good contract who is young and adam who has alot of upside is young and fits their timeline.

1. PK Subban is nowhere close to Myers in ability. PK is a tough guy who uses his size and work ethic to his advantage. He does not have the skill or hockey IQ to be a perennial star in this league. He is the next flash in the pan. He will be overpaid and never live up to his contract.

2. Myers for anyone on the Oilers just makes no sense. Buffalo is not giving up their franchise defenseman for an unproven, undersized forward. If Buffalo wasn't willing to trade Myers for Getzlaf, then why would they for RNH? IMO it makes no sense.

The original idea sprung was something like Gagner, Hartikainen for something like Sekera/Leopold/Regehr and Enroth, with picks potentially on either side. A few Oil fans just got hopeful and started the Myers rumors, which caused Sabres fans to say they'd get RNH/Hall/Whoever if Myers was on the table.

I sorta agree. Don't think they are playoffs with the current d. but don't give up a player to improve it. Give the kids another year. 2013 should be good. If the oilers can nad a big free agent next summer, they are in. if its a forward, then they could trade one of the big 3. if its a d-man than they wont need too. Only kink in this chain is if dubnyk doesn't continue to grow.
