Laughton, Read, Bourdon, and a 1st for Subban - Richieattack18
Not even close to being enough......
If Philly or any other team wants Subban they'll have to overpay. Montreal doesn"t have to trade Subban.
ANy deal from Philly starts with Brayden Shenn and Bourdon or Montreal hangs up.
Unless of course Philly wants to give up Giroux! |

Are you basing Gagner being better than Bozak based on their identical stats from last year of 18G's, 29A's 47P's? And Bozak did it in 2 less games, lol
Kadri has tools to be top6... - BoBBeR56
bozak played with Kessel and Lupul, gagner played third line duty for the first 20 games with Eric Belanger. Paajarvi doesn't have top 6 tools? plus paajarvi is 6'2 210 whereas kadri is undersized you'd agree |

No thanks here's why(my own perspective of course)
Matt Read 5"10 185 RW - Montreal has enough smallish wingers further more the RW spot is taken by Cole and Gionta in the top 6. Matt Read is a really good player but not what Montreal needs.
M.A Bourdon - Good Start like his size and upside.
1st round pick - No thanks It's going tobe close to a second rounder
3rd rounder - Why bother
Montreal would be better off matching or taking the compensation if Philly goes haywire on the offer. Montreal would be better served with 5 first rounders then that offer.
IF and that's a big IF Montreal is to trade Subban they will have to come out on top big on the trade for three reasons:
1. Past trades made by Gauthier and company has left a bad taste in their mouths.
2. Subban is a huge fan favorite
3. Subban is worth more to Montreal then what offers may present itself.
I think any trade would have to be something like a prospect, a centreman and 1st for Montreal to trade away Subban.
Bourdon
B. Shenn (who's a C)
1st
for
Subban and a Salary dump (Kaberle)
and I don't think Philly fans would be too happy about it, thing is Montreal doesn't have to trade Subban. Philly is the one coming knocking thus the price tag would be high. - Mats Naslund
So Canadiens enter season with Diaz or Weber in top 4?
First that is an overpayment by Phily but doesn't fill our need which is a strong D.
Love Subban and hope he remains but if he is dealt then we need a top 4 D-man to replace him. Who will that be on Philly? Only possible name is Coburn or Schenn and I doubt either of them are dealt.
Not even going to guess what forwards because if Bergevin acquires any other player on that roster except for one of these guys then it doesn't make sense at all. We need D for now, not 2-3 years from now.

You realize smid had a tremendous year in terms of blocks, hits and his handling of top-line opposition. I understand you don't watch any oilers games so its understandable, you see 15 points and think he is garbage.
Petry struggled to start the year and had a very solid final 40 games where he got approximately 20 of his 25 points - Oil_Addict
So you argued Myers stats as a base to why he was not that good last year.. but then when I show you the obvious stats on EDM... you claim foul and that stats don't matter??
Interesting...

No Buffalo fan wants Gagner..
he had 7 points in his last 23 games.. We get that production from Leino.
All of his points were in the same like 8 game span.
He is NOT a game changer and no better than any center that we currently have on our top 2 lines.
I would much rather have Ryan, Stastny, Getzlaf, Kane, Kane, etc.
it sucks that the market is so dry that Sekera and Brennan in a trade could only net us Gagner and his over paid contract. - JVince117
gagner is worse than ryan, stastny, getzlaf, kane and kane but those are all 1st line players. Gagner is an above average second line center, his 47 points in 75 games are right there |

That's not fair.......3/4 of the league scored more than Gomez in one game. |

you realize myers had 23 points last year - Oil_Addict
You do realize that over the last 3 years Myers has 29G's 79A's 108P's compared to Gagner having 48G's 82A's 130P's...and one is a 2nd line Centre and the other a defenceman?
Plus Myers is a MONSTER on defence... |

Difference is, petry isn't worth a hall or eberle, neither is smid. you can't tell me that Myers would be worth Eberle after this past season based on his complete game |

EBERLE!!! I would trade pretty much anyone on our team for him. Sekera, Ennis, Enroth, 1st for Eberle? This kid will be a top 5 player in the league in the next couple years... |

right where above average centers lie. only 33 centers got 50 or more points, those would be considered 1st line centers, no? |

the deal i suggested or that Ek may be suggesting included paajarvi as well. Obviously Myers is worth more than just Gagner.
The price to acquire Myers isn't as great as it was 2 years ago, people need to realize that |

I hear Kadri's name come up a lot from Leafs fans, if he's so great why is he involved in every trade scenario? - shanekern03
Because he was a top draft choice, and Leafs fans expected the world out of an 18yr old, and he hasn't be able to continually produce consistantly at the NHL level, so people are saying he is a bust.
I for one do not want to trade Kadri UNLESS a big name is coming back. He has great hands and vision, just needs to put everything together, bulk up and play a better 2way game... |
