What's that?
Finish in the bottom 3 for the last decade? At least you're content with that.

By 100, do you mean 13?
Cause Dallas beat them in the finals in 1999... |

very good read Richard.
I can see this being a trade Buffalo would look at, but not one that I truly would want. I like Gagner, but if they bring him in, who becomes that shutdown center for Buffalo, Ville Leino? Eager would be some nice added toughness. Eager-McCormick-Kaleta would be a fabulous 4th line |

I'm starting to get the sense that Cloutier believes there are '6 "untouchables" on the Oilers roster: Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle, Nail Yakupov, Justin Schultz and Oscar Klefbom' |

My take on the deal...
What did Eklund say: Oilers were offering up a "young star" Top 6 center and a 3rd line prospect player who has Top 6 potential. The Sabres in return would send a "significant" defenseman and an additional prospect (perhaps Enroth).
Edmonton - Sekera & Enroth
Buffalo - Gagner & Hartikainen
It's the only deal that makes sense based on Eklund's quote. I'm not saying it will happen or that I like it, but it does make the most sense. |

as for the Gretzky reference, it may have played out like a trade but in reality it was a sale. please, never reference that dark day again. - GuyLaDouche
They sold Gretzky 24 years ago today. |

the only question as to why he dropped out of the top-10 is: what the hell was toronto thinking? - b0s0o1
Grigorenko was the 4th forward selected this year.
Eberle was the 11th forward selected in 2008.
It's all about potential. You never know how it is going to work out when drafting 18 year old kids. |

Strategic Management. We basically do case assignments where we play the role of managers in struggling companies, and we indicate how we'd go about fixing things. The prof is still a zorch though... He usually treats everyone like garbage. |

I think a lot of teams are going to end up kicking themselves for not taking Grigorenko. |

Just taking a stab in the dark here: If the Sabres get Gagner for Sekera (and whatever comes and goes with it) I believe it is only to provide Anaheim with a second line center in a trade for Bobby Ryan (Regier won't part with Ennis). The Ducks signed two D-men and don't need the Sabres surplus of D-men but do need a second line center. Sabres pick up Gagner, package him with Stafford (or other player) and a pick for Bobby Ryan. |

I agree. Not sure that is a major deal. The only major defenseman that buffalo has is Myers. Deal is probably gagner and hartikainen for Myers and a prospect. Richard just won't put hartikainen in any potential deal because of the man crush he has for him. - oilcountrysask
as much as i like the sounds of theiving from the sbres there is no way in H.*.L.L
that we would get tyler myers for anything less than 1 of the oilers stars. eberle, hall, nuge, yakupov. for buffalo to pull the trigger on Myers for gagner and harti they would have to be on some seriously wild drugs. the end. |

The real question is, what are every ones real thoughts on Sam Gagner? I really don't think we discuss him enough. |

leino ? ott
gerbe mccormick kaleta
i honestly think buffalo is looking to trade with philly because we have a ton of defenseman and in return we are looking at either briere or talbot. leino briere hartnell line in philly was a good line, buffalo might look to mimmick or the may just want talbot's toughness and youth and cheap contract. - joshs
Ott can play center... and he's pretty damn good at it |
