Not at that crazy price (rumored at 4 years 30M). - stveshdy
if that's what he got, then I would have to pass. I thought most money doesn't always get the player though? See Parise, and Suter. |

So the Flyers didn't get Doan either huh? Hmmm... Holmgren batting 0.0% - PLindbergh31
Disagree on batting 0%. My followers knew since the beginning of the offseason that there weren't going to be major changes.
I was surprised by JVR leaving.
I still think Bobby Ryan will happen before the trade deadline.

A person in the know says a 1st + a prospect or player - bradleyc4
That's an expensive price for Jay-Bo. Wow. Defenseman are high priced I guess. |

Guess you missed the signings of Leighton, Grevais, and Tenko. His batting % is higher than 0. - stveshdy
I liked the Fedetenko signing he can be a useful player. Gervais goes from spare part, to all of a sudden playing a role with this team. Leighton is a waste of oxygen. |

No it doesn't. The player has to be willing to come to town as well. |

They didn't sign Gervais to be a spare part. And Leighton will be a solid backup. |

Depending on the terms. I wouldn't be in favor of a long deal for him. He certainly would improve the team if he was added, no question about it. - PLindbergh31
But not at the terms that were reported? IE 4 years, etc?

Would you do a 1st + Cousins for Jbo?
I don't think I would. But I would do a 3rd and Cousins for J-Bo.

4 yrs 30 million is excessive for him. 7+ is a steep price to pay for Doan. I wouldn't have been in favor of that. We don't know what the Flyers offered him. They could have offered more for all we know. |

I would not trade a 1st for Jay-Bo. Lucky if I would deal a third for him, Da Man. |

Doan really has no intention of leaving the Coyotes IMO. |

Just like Leighton was a solid signing 2 years ago when he was brought back to be the starter and was injured when he signed his contract. 2 yrs, 1.5 million per, and he started 2 regular season games. I guess we have a different definition of solid. |

So your not in favor of signing Doan to a long term deal, or to the rumored 7M Cap hit. But you have no problem bashing Holmgren for striking out on Doan? |

Nothing you can do about that. Nashville went to the secret safe and got the money. |

Leighton was injured. And that has zero to do with Leighton's ability to be a backup this year to Bryzgalov. What do you care what they had to pay Leighton in the minors? |

I believe Leighton is an NHL backup. Thats just my thoughts. He shouldn't be a starter though. |

Maybe not, but he tested the market. The financial situation was up in the air in Phoenix. I'm sure his preference was to stay in Phoenix all things being equal. |

The financial situation is something that Doan is familiar with. I just think he has no choice but to test the open market but his preference is to play in Phoenix. He is willing to wait this long to find out whats going on. If he didnt want to be there he would of signed elsewhere by now. |

If your looking for logic, you've knocked on the wrong door (i.e. HB for the slow ones). I recommend driving down the street, and make a right at the second stop sign. |

Logic is overrated. Sometimes you can overthink. |
