NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said that the league will lock out its players if there is no new collective bargaining agreement by the time the old one expires on Sept. 15. "We reiterated to the union that the owners will not play another year under the current agreement," said Bettman. According to ESPN's Katie Strang, one of the bigger issues that needs resolution is related to revenue sharing. In the initial proposal, the owners were seeking a decrease from 57 percent to 46 percent for the hockey-related revenue that the players receive.

Him and the league are a bunch of Richards for doing that: not going under the current deal until a new one is hashed out. Why the (frank) not? Half the world's population is unemployed, almost every major country's economy is on the verge of collapse and these ultra-rich prima-donna's are worried about what they pay for their investments!!!! Ok i;m done but seriously the league oughta go through with at least one season while negotiating a new deal, it would only endear their fans more to them. |

that money goes into the owners pockets then? i mean the players are getting paid a salary why do they need MORE money |

My point exactly ..... (frank) the welfare teams... They water down the product. They should get rid of the bottom four teams. Sometimes in order for a plant to grow you have to remove the dead poop |

Could you restate the question? I have no idea what this means. So far, no offer involving a players' share increase is on the table. The only ones increasing player salaries are owners and general managers. |

At least the initial plan to trade up to take Pickard didn't work out.

My impulse is to defer this question to the man in black, however I will say the players sacrifice their health and well-being while making the owners rich, hell buy a player's jersey and the owner probably gets more of that money than the player himself. |

I had no problem with the assets given up to acquire Pronger. Certainly is unfortunate the injury Pronger sustained. Do you believe it was an overpayment? |
