when did i ever say assaulting people was ok?
all i'm saying the only thing you're allowed to say in EULAs is pretty much don't break any laws using the software
telling someone how it is isn't breaking the law that's 1st amendment - 2Real

I'm in that boat along with drafting all positions and developing them all not just forwards & trying to trade or sign them as free agents. |

They do draft defensemen, they just do a poop job of developing them.
Hopefully Bourdon or Gustafsson or Manning can change that trend. |

True.
I'd like to see that and maybe 2 of the 3 they drafted this year make some sort of impact. |

That's the big thing. They get these early round forwards and they're in the NHL in 2 or 3 years max and that's great, but the patience hasn't been there for defensemen.
I'm not sold that Bourdon, Manning or Gustafsson will ever be more than 3rd pair guys, or that kids like Gostisbehere or Wilcox or Larsson will be even that good, but be patient with them. |

Somebody in there can be a 2nd pair guy, odds are as you mentioned the patience may not be there for that chance to be with the Flyers. |

How realistic of a chance does Gostisbehere have to make the WJC squad? I'd imagine Stolarz won't make it this time around. |

Hearing that Ghost has a good shot. Stolarz is still #4 -- #3 at absolute max -- on goaltending depth chart this year.

In my opinion:
1) They have tended to prefer to draft big-bodied but modestly-skilled defensemen who didn't have much upside to begin with (Kenny, Mallette,Beckett, Forbes)
2) Many of the more athletic/skilled D showed questionable hockey sense even at the lower levels (Ratchuk, Bodrov, etc)
3) Organizational impatience: Too many young D who DID show early promise as pros got rushed a bit and then fell out of favor when they struggled-- thinking here of players like Niinimaa, Seidenberg, Eaton, Picard. |

Maybe they just don't choose good ones. But even the ones who became NHL regulars didn't do it here for long.
Since I became a STH in 1995 they've drafted the following defensemen:
Shane Kenny never NHL
Dmitri Tertyshny (and he was going to be good you could see him learn every shift--this is one they got right and maybe he'd have been one they'd have waited for)
Jamie Sokolsky never NHL
Jeff Lank 2 NHL games
Chris Mallette never NHL
Mikhail Chernov never NHL
Jordon Flodel never NHL
Marko Kauppinen never NHL
Par Styf never NHL
Jason Beckett never NHL
Ian Forbes never NHL
J.P. Morin never NHL
Bruno St. Jaques 67 NHL games 13 with Philly
Sergei Skrobot never NHL
Jeff Feniak never NHL
Regan Kelly never NHL
Jeff Woywitka 278 NHL games none with Philly still in NHL
Jussi Timonen 14 NHL games
Dennis Seidenberg 535 NHL games 92 with the Flyers (I never liked their giving up on him after the broken leg. Didn't make sense to me.) still in NHL
Thierry Douville never NHL
Joni Pitkanen 513 NHL games 135 with Philadelphia still in NHL
David Printz 13 NHL games
Rosario Ruggeri none NHL
Nikita Korovkin none NHL
Joey Mormina 1 NHL game none with Flyers
Alexandre Picard 253 NHL games 72 with Flyers still in NHL
Ryan Potulny 126 NHL games 42 with Flyers fringe NHL
R.J. Anderson never NHL
Chris Zarb never NHL
Travis Gawryletz never NHL
Oskars Bartulis 66 NHL games still in Flyers system
John Flatters never NHL
Mike Ratchuk never NHL
Denis Bodrov never NHL
Joonas Lehtivuori never NHL I'm not sure of his current status, he was on loan from the Flyers last year.
Kevin Marshall 10 NHL games for Flyers traded to Caps
Luca Sbisa 195 NHL games 39 for Flyers played full season for Ducks last season
Marc-Andre Bourdon 45 NHL games just re-signed with Flyers

Ryan Potulny? He couldn't spell defense, let alone play it...and I liked that kid
Chernov was good friends with Tertyshyny, and with him the day of the tragic accident. I think that he was a changed man after that day. |

So 24 of the 37 D-men drafted since 95 never made the NHL, and Joni Pitkanen with a little over 100 games made the biggest contribution to the Flyers team.
Puddles at the feet of everyone involved from incompetence running down their legs. |

Over the same time period, the Detroit Red Wings have drafted 41 defensemen. 10 of them have played any games in the NHL.
Detroit also took twice as many defensemen in round one as compared to the Flyers over that time.
You should try paxil. |

So I read a recent article that quoted Rob Zombie saying he is going to gore up this flick on the broad street bullies. I am pretty pumped for this.

yea I don't know how I feel about him doing that movie. Like his music but sometimes he's too psychedelic gore for my taste. Thought he did a good job with the first Halloween installment then (frank)ed it up by making an over the top weirdo session with the sequel. |
