If coburn is running a PP. he will be tanked by seasons end. Give MAB a shot at it - Just5
Why will he be tanked?

Bouwmeester would add some much needed offense on the blue line and plays 25 minutes a night. - bradleyc4
He'd fit ok and no doubt improve the back line, but that salary cap hit sucks and what would it cost to get him?
I've heard a top six forward + a first rounder.
Too steep for me. |

I agree. I'd much rather see what we got. And make a move at the deadline if need be. |

How do you know MAB can't handle a PP unit? The game is played on the ice. |

I am a very big fan of J.Bo since his days with the Panthers. I think on the right team he will quickly return to his previous form. But, he is going to prove very pricey. I do not think the Flyers will want to offer up a top prospect.
Without bringing in a guy who can log the 25 minutes a game I believe the Flyers will face some real problems in their own end. Bryzgalov is a fragile piece even with a strong D playing in front of him. It could be that the Flyers struggle and, perhaps, even miss the playoffs without an upgrade in their defensive roster. But, it is better to take their time. Come Christmas there will be some very good Dmen who will suddenly become available.

I don't know. But as Bill said in his blog, you have a player that is trying to establish himself in the NHL. He made a big leap last year just to put himself in the mix. One of the best ways to ruin a young defenseman is to put too much on him. Let him just focus on playing a solid 5 on 5 role. And let other players with more experience shoulder the bigger load.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kimmo and Coburn matched up either. Depends on the health of both Timonen and Grossman. - bradleyc4
If it were the Jay Bouwmeester that played in Florida then I'd say definitely but I am far from sold on the player who has been suiting up for Calgary the last three years. |

I disagree that Bryzgalov is fragile. To deal with that he had to deal with last year, to get his game back on track after that. Shows how strong he is in my opinion. A lot of players would have never come back from that.
And in my opinion the Flyers are a playoff team as is. |

I wouldn't mind J Bo but realistically I think they'd have to trade Read/Simmonds plus a first. That's too steep in my opinion.

I want that type of player. You're not going to get him via free agency (even next off-season), so it would have to come via trade. |

Fantasy idea of the day...
Say (against all odds) the Flyers ended up signing Doan... Would anybody be opposed to shipping a guy (maybe Simmonds, +?) off for a young D-man RFA like Subban? |

If they trade a top six forward plus their first pick next year in what is supposed to be a very good draft for JBo then the decision not to resign Matt Carle will look terrible. I know they did not want to give him the contract he got from Tampa, but I'd much rather have Carle back, keep my top six forward and first rounder over getting J Bo.
I know the deal for JBo is speculative, and there was no way to predict the Mezzy injury, but it still looks bad to me if this is how it plays out. |

Really, how so?
I'm guessing your reasoning is that this injury is really going to kill the team cap wise. Or something something something......I guess...

I think they should sign CC and call it a day..
Timonen-Coburn
Grossmann-CC
Schenn-Gus/MaB/Gervais
These are just thrown together.. no rhyme or reason. |
