allowing Quebeckers to vote is like allowing a blind drunk to drive you to the airport.

Kind of the way I saw it, also Layton's Party likes to give stuff to people for free.
- pete26

Seeing as people with no history in politics that were only on the Ballet becuase the NDP needed a name beside their logo got voted in, most people saw it that way.

At the last provincial election, people who were tired of the Liberals voted massively for the ADQ, a right wing party.

At the last federal election, people massively voted for the NPD which views are quite the opposite.

I don't think people here realize anything.

The media shoves it down their throat.

And they don't realize it.

Their reasons for voting the way they did doesn't change the fact that it's pretty common to vote differently in federal vs. provincial elections.

For the majoirty of people, voting is a popularity contest and the Party platform is secondary and the historical political views of a party is even further down the list.

that's when this volatile polical climate really went off the deep end though. ADQ goes from a few seats to like 40 in 2007. fair enough. in the the provincial election which took place ONE (frank)ING YEAR LATER, ADQ is back to a few seats, PQ and Liberals make huge gains. i have no clue what to expect in 2 weeks.
