Will he put up 50-60 points with Bourque and Gomez?

DD needs to be on the top 2 lines and needs big quality linemates

and then he will be a 60plus point player.

So that is 2 prerequisites that a team needs to take into consideration when thinking about trading for DD.

Now if DD could turn into a 80 to 100 point player, I could see teams wanting to trade for him no matter what they have to surround him with, but for a 60 point player? Don't think so.

So if you sign him long term and he remains what he is then you are stuck with him for that term. Is DD what you want as 1 of your top 2 Centers on this team for long term?

- HuileHab

see, that's the thing. those guys? they suck. it's like saying "our wingers suck so we really have no use for this good centreman..." if you're asking whether DD is SO good that he can turn 2 useless players into second-line wingers, i have no idea.

Since he has no trade value I don't see the point in signing him long term.
If nobody else wants him he should be easy to resign for peanuts every couple of years.

For next year, we need better D or it's gonna be another long year. But with a 40 games season, you never know what might happen.
- ShafterBenRaide

i was speaking more long term, since we have some D prospects who are close, and we expect maturation from Subban and Emelin.

True, our best winger prospect right now is Gallagher, and he is about the size of Desharnais.

But we are stuck with those poop wingers, so plek is stuck playing with the poop wingers putting up 50 points becuase DD needs to put up 60 with Cole and Max.
So Status Quo for 2 or 3 more years then hope we can find better wingers.

K so can DD put up 60 or more points playing with just one of Cole or Max?

We need to try and get the best out of both our centers, but we are stuck with some junk wingers.

On another note did you find out for sure if players waste a year of their contracts during a lockout?

I don't hate him, but i don't see him as the future and i don't see why we have to give him the only decent wingers we have and let the rest of the centers rot.

Not so much a hatefest, but Pleks could do well with max and cole as well.
And in 2-3 years we should FINALLY have some big C with Eller and Gally.
DD should not be on 3rd or 4th but where else do you put him?
We don't have much size on the wing so we need to get as big as possible. With Gallagher possibly being on the team in 2-3 years as well we have to look long term.
I have no problem with DD for that 2-3 year period but afterwards if everything goes well, there just is no spot for him.

Just bought a new litter brand for the cats. I find it smells better than the one I used before but the pee doesn't stick together enough so it creates a lot of little pieces that go through the scoop and quite frankly, I don't think I will buy that litter brand once again.

The only way I sign DD long term is if its for a very reasonable amount say 3 mill. He's a great passer but was carried by his wingers this year, he does have potential but I just don't see him here long term. I rather pleks or Eller as the #2 center behind Gally and DD can't play 3rd line. If we sign him at a low cap hit and he doesn't grow past 60 points we can find a place to trade him, if he does develop past 60 points than we keep him and Gally as the 1-2 (kinda like a lite version of Crosby Malkin) and we can ship Pleks or Eller.

Collberg then Kristo then Gallagher
- BingoLady

Collberg just suffered a big injury to his shoulder I think. We will see how he is when he comes back.

Kristo is staying another year at University, before finally going to the AHL. Staying so long in the USHL has slowed his development. And he is like 22 already. He will be 24-25 when he finally makes the NHL.

I think Gallagher is closer to the NHL then the other 2.
