It could very well be Price. And as much as I like Price, he isn't good enough for that role as of today.

yep...as a backup maybe.

No. He may be a little over paid and overrated....but he does not suck. In fact he'd be a top 2 on most teams...including the Habs.

Ok. It's one thing to try and be funny and whatever. But this sort of nonsense will get you committed.

BOOM

He might not play for team Canada, but he is far away from sucking.

1. Phaneuf is 6th in the NHL among defenseman in TOI.
2. He plays PP and PK.
3. He plays against the other teams best players ever night
4. He scored 44 pts last season (12th in NHL)
5. 9th among D-men in goals in the NHL
6. He has the hardest job of being captain of the Leafs with people breaking him down on a daily basis
7. 4th in the NHL among D-men with 7 PP goals. Meanwhile he is 18th in PP ice time per game.

He is much better than people give him credit.

Paneuf was -10.
Subban was +9.

I think this is clear.

See, this is the problem. He is NOT much better than people give him credit for. It's the exact opposite.

I expected more offense from Subban last year, but the fact that he had to replace Markov, and play some first defense pairing minutes, in only his second season probably didn't helped. I think he fared well under the circumstances.

Now, hopefully maturity kicks in at some point, but for the rest I think he's doing ok.
