Alexei Kovalev told Quebec-based sports channel TVA Sports this week that he has offers on the table to attend training camps with NHL teams.

Habs are currently spending $5 million on a 1 dimensional penalty killer (Plekanec). Too spend any more than $2 million over 1 year on a power play deliver like Kovalev would be damaging to the future of the Habs development process. Therrien could be the right coach for a guy with Kovalev's abililty, but considering the dollars spent on other 1 dimensional players, Kovalev is not a luxury the Habs can afford. Report this comment!

transition coach...Habs aren't winning anything anytime soon

EDIT: For the record, besides Carbonneau, Therrien is one of the last Habs coaches I really liked. At least, it will be less boring than the Jacques Martin era...hopefully
