DD is a great player, that's a given, BUT if you had your choice for C for lines 1 & 2 and had to choose from:

DD, Eller, PLeks, Gally

And I'm not talking this year or next but 2-3 years down the road, who do you choose and you can only pick 2 and maybe put one on 3rd line.

It has NOTHING to do with not liking DD, just the number of positions available.

Please tell me when did Plekanec play in the ECHL before getting a shot in the AHL.

Plekanec has had to battle up through the ranks more then DD has and he still hasn't had 2 good wingers.

Drafted players don't usually get sent to the ECHL unless they really suck.

DD wasn't drafted and he never gave up on his career, that doesn't make him an icon.

Cole--who's spent a good chunk of his career playing with Staal and Brind'Amour--had a career season playing with DD.

Eller has not proven he's regular enough to be a top 6.

Nobody has seen Galchenyuk play 5 games so that one is impossible.
