I had the cheapest seats in the Arena. This year I severed our 25 year relationship. I swore we'd still go to games this season but now I'm thinking that probably won't happen.
It's easier to pay 3 grand and go to games than it is to hand over 100 bucks and get two tickets. When you're a season ticket holder it's a life style. When you're not it's just painful to dole out that kind of cash for individual games. - mayorofangrytown
I don't blame ya. You'd think they would be more fair to their STH's with the economy and all. |

I had season tix for 27 years and when I think of all the money I spent it sort of makes me sick, but still enjoyed the time. It is much more economical to get the hockey package on TV. |

Well thankfully they had the lock out year so that they could keep hockey affordable for the average fan. You know people who make 30-50 grand a year before taxes if they're lucky. Not people like me who have 100+ household income who are getting priced out of professional sports venues.
I began to waiver when I lost 30% of my annual income to the sagging economy and they were sending me letters talking about how they were just charging a 5% "cost of living increase" year after year. It was the death knell for me when I saw them restructure the seat prices so that every row and every section had a different price. |

I thought about doing a 12 game plan for the second half of the season... and then purchasing tickets from stub hub over the first half.. You can get lower level tickets for the first half of the season routinely for around $50-75. Second half you cant find one under $95.
Its the cheap way to do a half season ticket package... |

I have season tickets to my sons 16U hockey team so I get to see 40+ games live every season starting tomorrow and they cost about the same but I can bring as many people as I want.
Honestly, having your kid play competitively takes the edge off of going to NHL games. You realize the difference between being a fan and really being invested in a sporting event. Of course, my behavior has to be diametrically opposed to my actual emotional connection or they make me leave. Worse, my kid glares at me from the ice. |

I think I'll miss the interaction with the club I've had over the years. The meet and greets, the player events, the ex players who recognize and know me by name, the people I've come to know who work there, the ushers I hug for luck before each game, the bartender who never makes me stand in line for beer and the old dude who works at the bottom of the stairs whose hand I shake after every game.
They were good times. |

I'm lucky. I've only had to leave once after my sons third concussion. My wife kept me from getting ejected when he was two handed across the back of the legs at The Pond last season and they called a trip. There was also the twinkie incident in Pittsburgh but I don't think they could figure out who that was. |

Yes working people and owners of big businesses usually do have very different views of the world. do the owners just want a lockout? |

I hope the next PA proposal lists cities more viable than those of the owners whose teams are bleeding money. |

not recieving a cookie at all seems like the beginning of a Stephen King book...... |
