Yea, now all you have to do is find the ways to clear the additional space.

Didn't you say that Laughton was going to be better then Mike Richards?

And your willing to trade him for Bouwmeester? If I thought that, I wouldn't be making that trade.

The league's response to the player's counter-proposal wasn't exactly encouraging.

No it was not. And I think if Fehr stays the course, public opinion will only get worse against the owners.

It seems as thought the League is not willing to negotiate or compromise in any way. They want what they want, and that's it. It will take a miracle to avoid a lockout.

I saw the mayor and Jr at a game near the end of last season. Kid is HUGE. I couldn't believe how tall he got. Of course, they said similar things about M4, but as long as he's shorter than me the facade that he isn't growing much is there.

You're all good until your kid can pick you up, then you have trouble. I've been in trouble for awhile now.

I just want my money back until it's settled, or for them to pay me interest.

They got it the last time and everyone flocked back in droves so I guess they figure there's no killing the golden goose no matter how hard you squeeze it to get more eggs.

Bill, you know Homer is itchen to bring in J Bo and Ryan..when do you think these trades will happen?
- vejim

I don't think either will, especially Ryan. The price tag is simply too high.

And sad to say, I will too. But that doesn't mean that I wont be booing Ed Snider for the first time in my life. I don't really care where he comes in on this whole thing, he is an owner, and this time, I think the owners need to be held to account.

Actually, if you read between the lines of the predictable public statement, I think there is room to negotiate. There will be a lot of sword rattling and posturing between now and then, however.

Lucky you, at least the last time we were able to attend some Phantoms games. Screw you owners!

The only interest they have in you is the same one they have with the players. How to acquire and keep more of our money.

I guess they'll roll back ticket prices 5% again and then effectively raise them 40% over the length of the new CBA like last time. Maybe this time they'll paint a middle finger on the ice.

That's kinda what I thought. This is not going to be finished early. There is too much money and time to fight over it for this to be settled before the deadline.

Just everyone try not to get too caught up. I love hockey too, more than a man should love a sport. But really, it's a game. And this a just a battle between Billionaires and the millionaires they employee. It's nothing personal, this is all business. So of course it sucks.

When the two sides are far apart, or using Fehr's term of a gulf between them. There is a lot of room to negotiate. That isn't the problem. The League doesn't seem open to it. The players were willing to share part of the burden to address the League's financial problems. The League wants them to take the full brunt.

The good news is that things can change very quickly. But right now, they can't even agree on the financial picture of the League. Before they can even sit down and actually hammer out an actual agreement, they have to find a common ground.

Bettman and Fehr can't even agree if the NHLPA gave an actual proposal. Bettman says they haven't. And Fehr says other then a few minor things, the League has what they need from the players.

Both side want to negotiate from the starting point of their proposal. There is zero common ground right now.

We hit the high for the summer here so far... 86 degrees.
I don't know how you folks back east deal with the heat.

I'm sitting on the porch drinking a raspberry homebrew.
Next beer planned is a ginger...
in honor of the 19/28/93 line

If they lock out this season I think I'm done with it.
