We hit the high for the summer here so far... 86 degrees.
I don't know how you folks back east deal with the heat.
I'm sitting on the porch drinking a raspberry homebrew.
Next beer planned is a ginger...
in honor of the 19/28/93 line
If they lock out this season I think I'm done with it. - Marc D
It's almost comical at this point. |

I don't see losing a full Season. But there will almost definitely be a lockout.

at least we'll have NHL 13 so we can just keep trading for Jay-Bo and Ryan with picks and Shelley. |

All this will succeed in doing, is UNdoing all of the popularity progress the NHL has made over the last 5 years. The NBA was making a bid for it with their stupid labor problems last season. I guess the NHL couldn't stand not being the biggest joke of the pro sports world.

When the two sides are far apart, or using Fehr's term of a gulf between them. There is a lot of room to negotiate. That isn't the problem. The League doesn't seem open to it. The players were willing to share part of the burden to address the League's financial problems. The League wants them to take the full brunt.
The good news is that things can change very quickly. But right now, they can't even agree on the financial picture of the League. Before they can even sit down and actually hammer out an actual agreement, they have to find a common ground.
Bettman and Fehr can't even agree if the NHLPA gave an actual proposal. Bettman says they haven't. And Fehr says other then a few minor things, the League has what they need from the players.
Both side want to negotiate from the starting point of their proposal. There is zero common ground right now. - MJL
I have a feeling the league isn't going to give even an inch until the September 15 deadline is much closer. |

I'm not as concerned where negotiations are at this point with posturing from both sides. Once the calendar hits September, I expect both sides to push the pace. August represents the time to try and gain public support and stick your chest out.

Ever since you mentioned Can I Play with Madness not so long ago, it's become an ear worm to me. Thanks for extending my recent Maiden binge. |

Not sure why NHL13 doesn't have a lockout mode. I can imagine negotiating a CBA would be kind of interesting. |

I would wreck u... by reading the emails of all of the members of the PA, ruling it with an iron - but Fehr - hand. |

And no, this does not (frank) the Flyers over cap wise. Hartnell will want 5M, they'll give him that, Kimmo's cap hit will go down considerable, prob down to around 4.5M, and then Shelley, Walker, Lilja are all gone.
So were good cap wise. |
