The enforcer role isn't what it used to be, that's for sure. Still, I don't think Shelley is completely useless as a player. He can skate the shifts you'd expect him to and bring a physical presence. He's not a fast skater and won't bring an iota of offense, but I wouldn't call him completely inept.
That said, I'm all for icing a younger, more capable hockey player eleven times out of ten. And based on how little Shelley played last season, I'd definitely agree he's not needed on the roster. - BulliesPhan87
You pretty much summed it up. |

Not yet. The Flames have multiple teams after Bouwmeester driving his asking price up. Detroit, Philly, St.Louis, and Pittsburgh. |

St.Louis wants someone to pair up with Pietrangelo or Shattenkirk.
Pittsburgh well you seen that defense in the playoffs, they could use the help also.
Flyers we all know why. |

ok i guess on St. Louis, on Pittsburgh they need more of what we have in the stay at home department. If they get him I'll laugh, they already have Letang they don't need JBO. |

Just going off rumors I have read online. I'm going to support the Flyers decision no matter what. I might not like it (depending on cost) but it is what it is. |

They shouldn't let fans into working press conferences. It makes a mess. |

I think most of us don't get it. Including most NHL GMs these days. Disagree with the poster without being disagreeable, please. |

He's young and still learning how to play his role at the NHL level. I'd be hesitant to completely bail so early in his career. - eayost
Remember when he hit Cou2rier in the head last summer and a lot of us wanted him banished? And then he played this last season for the Flyers and was reasonably tame and not only stuck with the team, he remained in control for the most part despite our concern he might go wild at any point? Good times. And apparently this past season meant nothing since fan opinion is back to square one. |

Funny, Laughton similarly injuring a teammate at camp evoked a favorable response. Of course, all else is not equal. |

This is seriously great. I hope Ed Snider is watching
Can someone help me out with this? Just what the Eff does Mr. Snider have to get his face rubbed in poop by that franchise for? I'm just wodering, I mean the Flyers have been the most successful franchise in philadelphia in terms of winning. To imply that Mr. Snider has something to learn from the Sixers just astounds me. Someone please tell me if that's what he's trying to say with that tweet cause it really irked me! Ed Snider has done a lot for Philadelphia sports more than any other owner. |

he's referring to the years that Snider owned the sixers. many felt he was just going through the motions and didnt try to really put together a winner. |

Look I'm not a Sixers fan, but by no means do I wish any will to them, just not a basketball guy, if they are off to good things this summer, great I'm happy for them! But to throw poop in the best sports owner in the city is a disgrace imo. It speaks volumes to one's stupidity and screams even more so to their ignorance. I expect just a little more from our media personalities, especially one who is the son of the "King" of Philly sports media. Flyers have done everything but win a cup which is more than any except the Phillies but even with them, there was a good 20 years of hell between parades. |
