he's referring to the years that Snider owned the sixers. many felt he was just going through the motions and didnt try to really put together a winner. - Crimsoninja
If that's the case then Spike Eskin should stick to music, because if he knew a damn thing about Ed Snider, it's that the man wants to win. |

Look I'm not a Sixers fan, but by no means do I wish any will to them, just not a basketball guy, if they are off to good things this summer, great I'm happy for them! But to throw poop in the best sports owner in the city is a disgrace imo. It speaks volumes to one's stupidity and screams even more so to their ignorance. I expect just a little more from our media personalities, especially one who is the son of the "King" of Philly sports media. Flyers have done everything but win a cup which is more than any except the Phillies but even with them, there was a good 20 years of hell between parades. - JoeRussomanno
easy Joe... they're referring to Ed's tenure as Sixers owner. Nothing to do with the Flyers |

Sounds about right. Snider really only cared about hockey. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but did the Sixers not have a few good years where there was a trip to the finals with Mr. Snider as the owner? |

I think perhaps he tried wasn't as successful as he'd have liked and did the right thing by selling the team to more capable ownership, no? There's nothing wrong with that. I'm sorry but I doubt Ed Snider took over the team just to hold a title of owner. |

Funny, Laughton similarly injuring a teammate at camp evoked a favorable response. Of course, all else is not equal. - BulliesPhan87
luckily Ghostbear's okay and had an awesome game for Team USA recently. Can't wait to see him in a few years when he puts on some muscle. |

Comcast made a business decision to purchase the team. He was part of that decision but I doubt he had any interest in Sixers' basketball past the fact that it was an investment that he needed to look after. He didn't even show his face at games until his desire to own the team came into question in the Media. |

yeah, like people are saying, its about the contrast between the sixers era under snider and now.
sad to say though, the flyers went from a whisker of being the team most likely to win it all to one that is less relevant than the 76ers. |

As much as I dislike Shelley for his on-ice play, I think it would be more beneficial for the Flyers to keep him as the 13th forward solely for his locker room presence. With Jagr gone, the team needs more veteran presence and Shelley can fill that role as we all know. |
