I disagree... Hartnell is a joker. A prefect "A", but not a "C". Talbot may not be a bad choice, but again I think he'd make a better "A". I'd go with Timmo or Briere before Talbot as a "C"

The reason I think that way is because Timonen is gonna retire (likely) after this season.. Id rather give it to a guy like Talbot.. a heart and soul guy who plays his ass of and is well liked, and also knows his role.

I am not a fan of giving a guy the "C" because he is the star of the team.. Giroux would probably make a fantastic captain. His work ethic is amazing, he is vocal yet also leads by example. He takes control of the team, and has done a very good job in front of the mic. I just would hate to see our pathetic media distract him..

I say leave it on Pronger's Jersey. Make the entire league keep wondering if he's coming back.

Ok as a Friday talking point... Who would make the worst Captain?

I guess my pick is to easy - Bryz (Language/culture barrier, Jokers never make a good Captain, He's off the wall, and he's a goalie)...

Worst past captain? Bill's link has his rankings... I don't necessarily agree on all fronts. I'm not a fan of Richards captaincy (his first year was good during good times, with a tiny bit of adversity he made it worse during the last year). I don't know if I'd rank Forsberg as low - it was more of a health issue than being a poor captain. And, I think I'd rank Desjardin higher - because of the situation he was put into - I think it could have been worse with a poor captain.

You make a fine arguement for G now... I say shame on him if he's distracted by a media that's so pathetic. He should take a lesson from Pronger who treated the media with respectful contempt. To me, the real test of a captain is how deals with his teammates not the chattering of the media castrati.
