If there's a luxury tax, you know the Flyers will be over it. - Jsaquella
Each and every season, no doubt. At least, as long as Snider and his checkbook are in charge. |

I'm not crazy about the length, but the cap hit is nice. |

The Flyers will have to trade away players to keep him or go over a the luxury tax (which could be in place w/ CBA). - stveshdy
Neither side, the players or the League has had a Luxury tax in their proposals. Don't see that as part of the new CBA.

I'm not worried about the length (not to say there's absolutely no reason for concern). It's not like he's signed through 40. |

If it's true that Hartnell's AAV is 4.75M. That is a flat out steal for the Flyers. An absolutely great deal. |

hartnell gave up $$ now so he could get extra years. NHL deals are guaranteed right now in this CBA

Well, through 37.
It's not a bad deal, just some minor concerns on length. |

It was in the speculation of the possibilities. But neither side has proposed a luxury tax. Both sides proposals has had a continuation of a hard salary cap.

There were speculations in Canadas national media that a luxury tax could be part of the NHLPA first salvo but it never happened. |

No.
It's a fair deal for the next 2-3 years. Beyond that, it'll be an albatross. |

Your words were, "You've got to be kidding me." that's a far cry from minor concerns on the length |
