I liked McNabb, right up until he revealed he had no idea that a NFL game could end in a tie. That pretty much ended it for me. - Jsaquella
I really liked what i saw from Foles last night. |

McNabb was the best coached QB to ever put on a jersey. IMO, Randle was the most talented QB. If he was developed by Reid, Cunningham's #s would be off the charts. McNabb had the luxury of having a very good O-line anchored by Runyan and Tre Thomas most of his career. He never had "prime WR" until TO but who the has Tom Brady had at the WR positon? Don was a good QB, not great QB but his inability to take any ownership in his play and shortcommings was his downfall. - KINGKENZO
Randall also resisted the coaching. Not sure how a younger Randall would have melded with a coach like Reid. |

Almost as startling as believing there are shoot-outs in the PO's. |

What coaching? Ryan's coaching of Starship 12 consisted of telling him he needed 5 big plays and walking away |

It was pretty much known he wouldn't even watch game film. Can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink. Even later with the Vikings it was found out that they were using the helmet headset to communicate with him at the line of scrimmage telling him what to audible etc. It's why there is a rule now to kill the mics once the team breaks the huddle. |

Tough to say when Buddy just told him to go make plays. I think the Viking Randle was the version he he should have been here. None of us can say for sure, either way, but if I had a gun to my head, I would say RC would have been a monster under AR.....( coming from someone who wanted Reid gone 6 years ago and counting)

There was a story that came out after he left can't remember which former Eagles assistant said it, but they apparently gave him game film to watch leaving the tapes at certain intervals and the tapes were always returned at the same point, never all the way at the end or rewound. If anyone remembers VHS you either ejected at the end or had the courtesy to rewind it if borrowing. |

That was brutal.
The other incident that really made him lose credibility in my eyes (as a leader and a QB) was during a Giants game when late in the game he made a nice run for a first down and then while out of bounds on the Giants sideline picked up their telephone and pretended to talk into it. He got a 15 yard penalty and although they wound up winning, that call made it much more challenging that it needed to be.
I remember thinking "what other QB in the NFL would do that at any time, let alone at a crucial point in a key game when his team is trying to run out the clock and preserve a lead". I couldn't think of one. I still can't. It's one of the stupidest things I have ever seen a QB do at any level, especially in that situation. |

excellent work on this piece, Bill. I think it's your attention to detail that sets you apart as a great hockey writer. I especially liked the map to the grave site of Pelle Lindberg, something I'll put in my back pocket until I win the powerball. It's a pleasure to read your articles about the flyers and be able to share my thoughts on here with fellow passionate flyers fans. - flyerscup2011

Same story as Vick in Atlanta. I dont dispute RC's lack of professionalism early in his career, but that was the culture Buddy created and enabled him to do. IMO, under AR's structure and tutulage, I think the story changes....Complete conjecture on my part. |

If you can take dry heaving out of coughing and struggling for air due to a hit then yes we can agree. The guy never puked.. He took a huge hit, got the wind knocked out of him, and yet on the very next play threw a thirty yard strike for a TD... - jak521
Then walked to the line of srimmage showing zero sense of unrgency at the end of the fouth quarter (two minute drill situation) in the Superbowl. |

Met Bernie Parent yesterday. Got an autograph, had a convo about how I wish I could have seen him play, and we both agreed the fans get shafted if there's another lockout! Took a picture too. One of the most charismatic people I've ever met.
What a treat. - Giroux_Is_God
You are a heterosexual male and probably found yourself wondering hmmm.....he is THAT charismatic! Ive met him many times as we have a mutual friend.....he is magnetic.

Never had the pleasure of meeting him. He comes across as about as likable a person as I have ever seen from a distance. Not one ounce of it is phony either. Guy just has a zest for life. |

Bernie was the reason I got into hockey.. I met him when I was 6 at a sports day my town was having. Ill never forget how big that Cup ring felt on my tiny finger. He was such a nice guy.
Funny story.. for about the following 2 years I thought he was a movie star as well. Turns out he isnt Anthony Hopkins.

I bet for Flyers fans say 47+, seeing Parent play in the Alumni game was probably more important than the Flyers winning the Winter Classic.
As the Bullies documentary showed, those guys are gods in Philadelphia. Bernie being at the top of the totem pole. |

The prevalent Philadelphia athletes of the 70s Dr. J, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Eagles don't have anyone (won 1 playoff game in the decade ) and the Broad St. Bullies, the players from the Flyers are held in a higher regard imo. The City truly embraced those teams. I would say they are the most beloved sports team in the history of the City. |

I'm not a fan of Zombie's, but I will have to see the movie based on the content. Let's hope Zombie doesn't incorporate any of that noise he calls music into the film. |
