I tried Halloween but my son wasn't into it. I can't go too crazy. my son just turned 15 and his friend is a couple months into 14. Not worried about my kid but I don't want to send his friend home screaming into the night.
I was raised watching the old horror movies in the afternoons. These kids aren't exposed to that stuff. If it's black and white they aren't interested. My son's watched giant monster movies since he was a little kid. I used Reptar from Rugrats to hook him on Godzilla. It was easy to turn that into Tremors but his mom caught me. To her credit he was only 6 so he only got to see the first one. - mayorofangrytown
O ok, yea no reason to rush them in. They are still pretty young. You are pretty awesome though, I had to discover the horror scene all on my own. No one in my family is interested.
You into foreign horror scene at all. I have been getting into them a bit recently. Though for some reason have been focusing on the torture/gore foreign scene, so really not to much horror.
The South Korean film "I Saw the Devil" and the French movie "Inside" are a couple that really caught my eye.
The Swedish film "Let the Right One In" is a favorite of mine. |

Anything going on in hockey? - jstross
I got to give the Flyers credit, they locked up Hartnell to a really good contract. I wish the Rangers would do that to players like McDonagh prior to the new CBA. |

Yeah. An extra year, but a team friendly AAV. |

Yep the AAV is all that really matters for a team like the Flyers, so the extra year was smart. |

Is Chad Kroeger & Avril Lavigne getting married yet another sign that the Mayans were dead on balls accurate?

And while Danny Syvret and Matt Walker would LOVE to be starters for the Flyers this season, they aren't even significantly in the mix for a roster spot. Gervais isn't even guaranteed of a starting job.
Subtracting Matt Carle and Kubina and adding Luke Schenn, the Flyers' starting blueline right now is otherwise the one that the team used during the stretch drive -- including March, where Bryzgalov set a franchise shutout record -- and into the playoffs. Due to back surgery, Meszaros did not play at all during that time until the final game of the playoffs.
No one would say the Flyers' blueline is stellar, but they aren't penciling in Syvret or Walker by any means.
As for the RFA offer-sheet stuff, it's not happening. Weber was a special case where the team was trying to land a franchise player. The Flyers aren't going to put out offer sheets to Carlson, Subban or Del Zotto. End of story.

The problem with an offer sheet to one of those three is there's no logic.
Weber was an elite level guy, with a fair AAV/cap hit and there's very few people who wouldn;t trade 4 1st rounders for him.
Carlson, Subban or Del Zotto would have to be overpaid to even sign the sheet, otherwise they'd be matched, and then you'd have to surrender draft choices in line with the cash. One of the three might be worth a 1st rounder, plus other picks/players, but is any of them worth 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd? |

NMC too?
Not needed. He didn't move much last year anyway. |

I'd assume, but I expected Doan to get at least $6mm per year |

The Katy Perry, Russell Brand nuptials made me wonder. Brand filing for divorce convinced me. |

Honestly, had one of them killed the other, and I was on the jury, I'd have to vote not guilty....they both annoy the living poop out of me |

Speaking of Weber, did the Preds and his agent get the NTC added to his contract? I haven't read anything new on it. |

Not as of yet, and he has still not signed the contract. But he is obligated to do so by virtue of signing the Flyers' offer sheet. He has no basis of protest, because the Preds are not obligated to give him a NTC based on a verbal promise from Philly (since offer sheets cannot contain NTCs).

Bill, I thought he was obligated to sign by December 1st under the current CBA regulations or couldn't play the year. I just find it interesting, the Preds won't give him one considering almost all "star" players receive one. Just a really quirky situation from beginning to end. |
