Nothing like having your parked car getting totaled by your townships firetruck. Just beautiful. |

The best part is they weren't even going to a call. I was only parked 60 feet away before they just slammed into the back of it for no reason. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Briere Condolences, Hartnell, Giroux, Niitty, Travel - bmeltzer
excellent work on this piece, Bill. I think it's your attention to detail that sets you apart as a great hockey writer. I especially liked the map to the grave site of Pelle Lindberg, something I'll put in my back pocket until I win the powerball. It's a pleasure to read your articles about the flyers and be able to share my thoughts on here with fellow passionate flyers fans. |

Were you parked in front of a hydrant? If not tell them your wife was in the trunk (you know, roleplaying is your business) and sue the bastards. |

I had a '98 Accent that I used as my first commuter car. Loved it, and it was exactly what I needed. My little neighbor called it "the Hulk" because it was Green. But it really was Hulk like. Took a beating and never faultered.. that was until it was totaled in a hit in run by a drunk kid I knew from high school. Kid gotta away with DUI because a cop (his buddy) found him a few blocks away waiting for a tow truck.
The insurance co. gave me $1,100... to me though that car was priceless. Worth way more to me than the money that can barely buy a moped. |

blueberries, almonds, chocolate, x tra virgin olive oil and green tea and you will live to 103 - vejim
My dad is 90. He's just been a meat and potatoes guy his whole life. Genes rock. You can go back to the 1600s on my family tree (both sides) and people largely live to their 90s. |

I think what you meant to write was: LIMITED EDITION, Turbo Charged, Gold Plated Mitsubishi Lancer. Mint Condition. |

Question: is there something ordinary fans can do to express condolances to Danny's mom? Danny is such a classy guy and I can imagine what he is going through (my mom died when she was 64) |

Holy crap.. my family tree only goes back to the late 1800's (or from what we have been able to trace)
EDIT: My fiances family is another story.. I think EYEtalians live forever.. Her great-grandmother lived to 105. Her grandfather (84) is part blind in one eye and has a trashed shoulder. He still cuts hair every day (not mine ) |

Forget Bryz.. People HATED McNabb. The guy is the best QB to put on the jersey, and put up his numbers with no-name receivers over the majority of his career. He was also a very fun loving guy who seemed like a pretty cool dude. I have never heard a bad thing about him from people who knew him when he was here.
Yet Vick gets out of prison, signs here, and is the best! - jak521
McNabb was the best coached QB to ever put on a jersey. IMO, Randle was the most talented QB. If he was developed by Reid, Cunningham's #s would be off the charts. McNabb had the luxury of having a very good O-line anchored by Runyan and Tre Thomas most of his career. He never had "prime WR" until TO but who the has Tom Brady had at the WR positon? Don was a good QB, not great QB but his inability to take any ownership in his play and shortcommings was his downfall. |

Which is what Mcnabb always was. Inconsistent.
However, he was placed in a system that was not complimentary to his talents. He was never a good fit to run a west coast type of offense. It magnified his flaws, especially after he limited his running. - 77rams
I agree with all this. McNabb was a good QB, and did better than we probably had a right to expect him to do in that system, and with such poor receivers over most of his career.
I think the things that made those fans that don't like him feel that way are:
1) never winning a Super Bowl despite all those NFC title games
2) Not seeming (at least publicly) as upset as those fans were that the team always seemed to fall short. The fans wanted him to be just as upset about not winning the big one as they were, and he just never seemed that bothered by always coming up short. Sure, his "it's only a game" attitude is probably a healthier, more sensible attitude for the average guy on the street to have. But I believe the fans want to see their sports heroes in any sport show more fire and anger than he did. They want to know that losing the big game burns in the pit of your stomach, and that it will keep on burning until you eventually win that big game. They don't want a guy who just laugh's off his team's perennial failure to win a title and says "It's only a game. Life goes on".
Doesn't make him a bad QB, but it does explain why a lot of the fans were not happy with him, imo. |

I liked McNabb, right up until he revealed he had no idea that a NFL game could end in a tie. That pretty much ended it for me.
