Disagree. San Jose's broadcast team is the least homerish - and best in the biz. That's my opinion. YMMV. - Flyskippy
I disagree with your disagreement. Chris Therien is the least biased announcer (i know its radio) I have ever heard. At times I feel he is anti-Flyer.
Not saying he is great. Certainly a little goofy. But not biased. |

Personally, I think Strangis and Reaugh in Dallas are the best duo league-wide. |

The best duo of all time in any sport:
I only was able to hear those 2 for the first 4 years of my life. I don't remember Whitey much; only tidbits of memories here and there. I was too young to see the scope of what happened.
Harry though- I grew up listening to him. He was the first announcer that I knew and recognized by both voice and name. As a little kid I'd ask my parents to mute the TV and put the radio on so I could hear him in the 4th-7th inning segment went he did the radio, and I continued to do so until he died. I was in 5th period when somebody told me. It was April 13th- I was 15- and the season was just starting, so at that time those weekday 3:00 games were still common. At about 12:30 a friend got a text from his dad. I knew the kid well and he was that one friend that bullpoops people all the time- I didn't believe him. I refused to. I got off the bus at 3:30 and ran home from the bus stop hoping to hear his baritone voice when I walked in the door, but I heard that clown Chris Wheeler and saw Harry's face on the TV with the dates....I was anchored with a weight that was absurdly heavy for about 30 seconds. It seemed like it anyway- it was probably only about 5. I just remember in one motion the tears flowed out, I said "No", my knees buckled and I went to a catcher's crouch, and then I spun and ran outside.
...I've cried that hard a only a handful of times in my life. I went outside and just gushed. I remember taking a bat to an old water gun that was always in the way when Dad would pull his car in. Obliterated the thing.
Me and Dad went to his funeral. It was and is the only time I've seen my dad cry.
That hit me so hard.... |

I have not heard them as often, but what I have heard was good. Of course, I'll let your obvious bias of all things Dallas go uncontested.
I have more experience hearing Reaugh than Strangis over the years.
I somewhat hope that JJ replaces the Phils' broadcasters for the sake of the Phillies fans (it is my understanding they disdain most, if not all, of the Phillies PxP guys) and the Flyers hire former Flames announcer Peter Loubardias to replace JJ. |

Or is it the better part of rumor sites? Damn, I always get that mixed up.

I have to agree with you. The playoffs were very entertaining with him (Clement) announcing the game and Jonesy being in the studio. I'm not a fan of Jonesy not b/c I dont like him but b/c his voice sounds like someone is pinching his nose when he speaks. |
