Well I'm sure the NHLPA will reject this offer so we get to have a whole new slew of unanswered questions in a week to 10 days.

No question. There is likely going to be a lockout. It's just a question of how long it's going to be. I'm not holding out any hope that they come to an agreement without a lockout.

What happens to season ticket holders if there is a shortened season? Do they reimburse you that money for those lost months?

My guess is that your average price per ticket goes up.

What they'll likely do, based on past experience, is they'll give you the option to put that money towards playoff tickets in advance. Or to get a refund.

You would have to somehow change how a Cap hit is figured. Regardless, there has to be some mechanism for teams to get at or below the new Upper Limit.

I don't know the answer. But the owner's proposal does not include salary rollbacks.

Think affect should have been used in each case.

You are correct sir.

It was an affecting tale. But his lack of affect in the telling minimized its effect, effectively leading me to affect a caring attitude.

They suspend your payment plan. And I believe I got money back in the season we do not mention when it became clear the season was not going to happen. I let them keep only the deposit for the following season and then the payment plan ramped up again.

The latest offer did not. But it included some kind of change to contract practices.

Getting my Red Zone channel ready. Too much ego going on with NHL an NHLPA.

My NFL channel doesn't work. They say it may mean the rest of the channels will go out one by one. But it's been that way since they installed the card in my TiVo and it's still the only one not working. Fortunately Red Zone works fine.

Honestly I'm trying to log off and am guilty of waiting for your reply. I don't have time to dig up that data but I do know if Nashville would have made a package deal with the Flyers for weber, it would have helped in a big way to their financials. First they wouldn't have gotten crap back in return. It might have initially made them a weaker team but if they load up on young talent at say Matt Read money, then they can still make the playoffs, remain competitive and with expenses down maximize their profits.

I'm not saying they will definitely fall on their face, just what seems most likely to me. I'm out.

- JoeRussomanno

Fwiw.... I agree with you it was an emotional decision. They screwed up so bad with the weber arbitration and the suter situation that I'm not convinced they have much business sense in the first place. So they get backed in a corner (their own fault) and then stubbornly double down on weber. I think business sense would have been to work a deal with philly or use those picks to get quality players elsewhere. No way they pay $27 million to trade him in 1 season..... and those signing bonuses don't get much smaller for about 6 years. Crippling.

Someone mentioned big investment returns come with great risks...... investing all your money in one place is certainly a great risk. They would have been better off diversifying imo to use the investment analogy. Time will tell.
