Elite players, best at what they do, most with a career span of about 6 years, yeah (frank)ing A they should be paid, and well. And if the owners are paying them too much, then it is there own (frank)ing faults. Not the employees problem to fix the owners and the leagues (frank)ing problems for them.
- Betelgeuse

doesn't matter how good they are, when the fans money dries up. who's going to pay them then?

How dirty would it be if the players just rejoined their teams and started a lockout season in old barns around North America? Just playing for free for the fans and sticking it to the system.

Jesus Bobbi, for a few more bucks an hour, you'd be right in line in the place across the street that offered it. Spare me the bs....

In 94-95, the NHLPA held a 4 on 4 tourney at Copps.

Expect something more along those lines.

as a whole, the NHL can't afford the salaries the players are asking.
in the end it'll mean the fans will have to pay.
a thousand dollars for a family of 4 to go to the ACC.
Frank the players

- bobbyisno1

player salaries have absolutely nothing to do with ticket prices at the ACC.

The prices at the ACC are set at what they think people will pay. It's 100% supply and demand. Bottom line has no influence whatsoever, as long as it's covered.

Leafs are paying $20M less in salaries than they were 10 years ago, but ticket prices are higher. Why? Cause fans will pay it.

Facts be damed!! It's all the evil players faults for taking the owners hard earned money. Them greedy bastards asking for $ and the owners agreeing. For shame.

No, it's higher revenue sharing. The Leafs fans are paying the freight for a number of obsolete franchises. Isn't it nice to know, that you helped keep Shea Weber in Nashville? Will you sleep better, knowing that Shane Doan will retire in the desert as a Phoenix Coyote? It's all thanks to you, Leafs fan. Keep paying $14.00 for that beer, $300.00 for your seat, $6.00 for that slice of pizza, $30.00 to park your car. Shane and Shea thank you for keeping them warm and cozy, during your long cold winter! Pimpin' ain't easy!

This is inaccurate. The most the Leafs ever spent before the lockout was 65 million dollars in 2002/2003. After the lockout, their payroll was slashed from 62 million down to 38 million and only until recently has it risen back up to the 62 million dollar range.

And of course there was player cost inflation, to thank for that.
