Sucks for Luongo, but I don't see Florida even wanting him.... they have Theo who's doing a fine job until Markstrom is ready.
Luongo may start the season as the backup after all.... |

Lu for Komisarek and Lombardi. - jbold
come on now. That's not enough for Luongo.
Let's add Connolly too.

Awfully quiet round these parts...
I told myself I would keep out of these CBA discussions etc, but went on a rant anyways ...dont agree with the notion that fans should try to boycott games. Far too many fans out there, far too many who dont care about the politics...if 5000 fans dont show, Im sure they will either not make a big enough impact, or their seats will be filled by others... |

Well one could say it's crazy how stupid leafs fans can be if we want to generalize a whole fanbase. |

Sometimes I think a one day boycott would be good symbolism to show both sides that the fans are fed up, but it would be impossible to organize and in the end, the owners and players will ignore the message being sent.

um...they already knew he wanted to go there. He said so in an interview with TSN 2 months ago
why would Talon up his offer when it is now even more clear he is probably the only horse in the race? - Big_Lightnin
I sincerely doubt Tallon has made an offer.
Luongo wants to go to the Panthers.
I've yet to see a single shred of evidence that the Panthers want Luongo. |

I think it's going to be longer than that.
I think the NHL will not start until the new year. |

thats just it...I dont disagree with the notion that it would send a message...I just dont think with the amount of season ticket holders and fans out there, that the rink would never be emptied...
I like the idea of either going to other non-NHL games...or going to play some good ol fashion road hockey at each respective rink, if locked out. |

All Talon has hinted at is that the team is keeping their options open. They just re-signed Clemmensen, so we know that they at least have their backup. Now the question is to they swap Luongo for Theodore, who had a very good year for them last season at a fraction of the risk, salary-wise. Not to mention having to give up any prospects Vancouver would expect. |

The Players’ propose that they partner with the high-income teams to provide targeted funding for the distressed teams and owners. But the players won’t and shouldn’t have to do this alone. The higher income teams need to share far more with the lower revenue teams. The Players will do their part; will the owners?
this is ridiculous, if it is a partnership between the players and the NHL how come it's only the owners that lose money?
does the higher earning players revenue share with the 4th liners? |

Luongo to Florida is a no brainer. Has been tht way for a long time. He has said he does not want to go to the Leafs. He says he wants to go to the Panthers. He has a no trade contract. What is there left to talk about? Move on! |

exactly.. the players cant seem to figure out that they are employees.. they have no right to the benefits of ownership.. none at all.
without a league the players are just normal guys..
the owners however are still billionaires.
