Loved the lighthearted tone that came along with this blob, Bill! Brought something I really needed before Organic Chem starts at 8:30 AM- a smile
Great work, Sir Meltzer. Thank you! |

The Eskin Award - Best Dressed Media Person
Bill Meltzer
His constant 3 piece suits is a must in the press box (t-shirt/jeans/press badge). He likes the way he looks, he guarantees it.

Damn straight.... clothes make the man . Still have my playoff flip-flops as well, but it will soon be time to give way to the Merrill slip on shoes.
Reason number 5 million why I adore my wife so much: She prefers when I'm unshaven and wearing a black t-shirt to dressed up and clean-shaven. When I do have to put on a suit and shave, she says, "You look nice, but that's not my husband!"

Is there some anecdotal animosity between Hatch and Ek? There must be something going on for him to be mentioned here...
Another fine entry today, Bill. Thank you.

This is seriously fantastic!
Now we need to find candidates for these awards:
The Cote Award- The player who amasses the most black eyes through out the course of the season. I think the winner last year could repeat again this year... Wayne Simmonds
The Carter/Richards/JvR Memorial Award- Awarded to the player(s) traded after signing an extension. Player must fit certain criteria to receive this award.
The Upshall Trophy- Awarded to the player who, Irregardless of play, seems to continually be a fan favorite.
The Scotty Award- Named after Scotty Upshall and Hartnell. Awarded to the player who tends to be in the coaches dog house no matter what.
The Jones/Vandy Trophy- The opposite of the Scotty award. Players who no matter how horrid they play, seem to continually get ice time. |

I've stood next to Hatch before - I'll do it.
I'm a big guy, but Hatch is one of the few players that made me feel small. Big hands. Nasty looking. Of course he was buying dog treats with his kids - that part was not so scary.
Eskin should have more than 1 award - best dressed, hardest working (media), and perhaps a Sherlock Holmes type of award for best investigation skills.

Good stuff. I'd have picked Shelley (despite his limited games) for the Cote.

Some things are given in life, some things are earned. Love or hate Eskin, you can't deny he is one of the hardest working men in show biz.
He may know absolutely nothing about sports, but he gets the good scoops. |

It will be very interesting to see who will be the Flyers scapegoats this upcoming Season. Most of the top candidates are gone. |

I worked for one company and they checked each day to see if you shaved. In which I don't. My co-worker shaved each day and he came in with a beat red face every single day.
IT, hoodie/tie...not weird at all |
