Interesting. As talented as you are Bill at writing and as much hockey knowledge that you have (I envy both), I think I would have a very hard time tamping down my rabid exuberance for the Flyers. I could not imagine being in the press box and not screaming my franking head off on, say, G's first shift in our clinching game against the Pens. |

btw, A guy like Avery and Domi are folks that I would hate no matter what and could never imagine them i the orange and black. |

I am sure whatever you do for a living, you are the ultimate professional. Bill is the same IMO.
Just saw a Flyers tough guy 10 minutes ago. Got me thinking that I hope we start the season soon. Unless the Phillies have a miracle push, I am going to need another team to watch other than these Eagles. |

I did a mini fist-pump underneath the desk that runs along the pressbox row and then nodded at Capt. EO sitting next to me. But I didn't say a word other than "Hell of a first shift, huh?" after the noise in the building died down. |

In any game, any team can come back. So, as much as you a fan of a team, it's a game of patience. Controlling your emotions is key. Hell of a first shift, then my next line is...let's see how respond (Flyers/Pens)!!!??? |

First and foremost, happy belated Bday! If I wasnt on the ol cellular device, I'd queue up the Beatles for ya. But.....alas.....
Speaking of hatred.....I'm wondering your opinion of a certain James Neil?? |

Neal played dirty as hell in the series with the Flyers -- and now has a bit of a rap sheet, going back to his time in Dallas. Ordinarily, he's not a dirty player, but we've all seen that he can be. But so can Giroux.
There are no angels out there. Multiple-time Lady Byng winner Martin St. Louis once blatantly attempted to break Alexei Zhamnov's hand during the 2004 playoffs. Zhamnov lost his glove on a play and St. Louis took a deliberate chop at his exposed hand; thankfully, he missed (barely).

I will always dislike the Pens, Devils, Rangers, and Lightning (RIP 2004) as teams.
Montreal's fanbase annoys the hell out of me.
Patrick Kane can be on the Flyers and I'll dislike him, same goes for Crosby, Malkin, and Brodeur.
On the flip side, I absolutely love watching Ryan Callahan, Henrik Lundqvist, Scott Stevens, and Max Talbot when he was on the Pens. |

Hey Bill,
Off topic, but why hasn't Flyer / Hockeybuzz become available for the Kindle Fire? I read everyday, but would support if available for that reader. Thanks for all that you do for the Flyer faithful. |

I think most fans hate division rivals, but more so when they are good. No one hates the Islanders now, but give them a winning record and S Avery and they will lead the most hated list. |

Interesting results.
I hate the Pens but I love to hate the Pens. I just flat out hate the Devils. There isn't anything interesting about them. Never really hated the Rangers until last season. Never considered them a fact until last season either. |

Question.
I think many are expecting Giroux and Vorecek to see a lot of five on five together but I was thinking, why not go the other way. Why not give Briere more support. Have Briere center Hartnell and Voracek? Then have Giroux center Schenn and Simmonds. I think the world of schenn and Simmonds. I think schenn is going to be a real stud. I feel schenn can only benefit from seeing time with Giroux and hopefully most of his career. |

Its not the worst idea I've ever heard. Briere has done well with Harts. Voracek could set up Briere somewhat.
Giroux and Schenn would work well I believe. Would love to see G doing his mouthing off and Simmonds coming in to back it up.

That's Amazon's decision not to make it available on the new reader. Basically, if you download Amazon's RSS reader, you can see blogs for free that run off RSS feeds.
For older Kindle readers, Amazon takes 70 cents on every dollar from subscriptions. Apparently, they prefer to take 100 percent. |

I'm in favor of playing Voracek with Briere. But I would keep Hartnell with Giroux |

Not loving the idea of Harts G and Simmonds on one line.
Giroux have have to maintain puck control almost the entire time. |

I'm thinking Hartnell could be a one hit wonder when it comes to the number 38
