Yeah, I think the FED said last week they'd keep the same rates up until 2015 or something.

but they recently lessened the max term to 25 years. that could end up having a siezeable effect on things before the year ends.

I was being sarcastic, the irony is you probably wouldn't get what it's "worth" if you were to sell anyways. You just get to pay more taxes.

Houses much smaller than mine sell for 340-350K these days in my area.

One of my friends was arguing with me the other day that you can buy a house, wait for it to gain value, sell it and make money when you change house. I tried to explain to him you don't make money if you buy a house 100K, sell it 200K and move in a 200K house because the 200K house is "in theory" the same quality as your old one...when he realized he was wrong he kept arguing even more...lol
- BashCH

for it to gain value u could do some work upgrades say 20k and sell it for 240 then buy another at 200 and do the same but u work for it and pay for the new toilets, sinks etc.

I've had a few heated conversations with my parents about the fact that we're going to pay for their generation. At least we will have a world of choices in terms of career paths
- Jean_Perron

Not really since your parents will have to work until they are 70 before retiring.

For sure, but at the same time, it's a good thing in the long run.

The only way you can do this is by renovating it.

Rupert Everett blasts gay fathers
Everett is sparking outrage over comments he made about gay parents
Everett told Britain’s Sunday Times Magazine: ‘I can’t think of anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads.’

You can increase your value though by doing that, and I guess that's what he meant. You get a mortgage of 150k but the year after you sell the house for 175k, well that's 25k you just 'created'.

You can stack the money quite fast doing so, but you have to be ready to move often

swine
n swine [swain]
1 (pluralswine) an old word for a pig.
2 (pluralswines) an offensive word for a person who behaves in a cruel or disgusting way towards others.
