If you're a Democrat, you give the Pirates a little bit of something and tell them things will get better (i.e. lie).
If you're a Republican (I am BTW), you just tell the Pirates to go to hell. - Daman
So in other words it's better to be a Republican. Sorry to see Democrat bashing seep it way on to the site. |

i love how you simply your insults and don't explain them thoroughly
explain to me why should losers like the pirates get free things for losing - 2Real
Teams like the Pirates can't compete with teams like the Yankees in a vacuum, because of all the amenities of operating in a metropolitan area like NYC (compared to Pittsburgh).
Revenue sharing (or some form of it) makes playing field more even. |

If you guys are bored, come over to the Pens thread. For now, we are talking football death pool.
In an ironic twist, I'm quite popular and well regarded on the Pens thread. I even received an Internet trophy. - Daman

Correct, as I said all non-championship teams must be terminated at the end of the season. However, we must not refer to this method as 'survival of the fittest', lest it be associated with dubious theories. |

Dude - I was actually being critical of both parties and also making a joke. Not you, but even when I am completely unbiased people are acting like "Richards". |

While I agree in principle.. there have been plenty of teams to have had extended success while not being in a NYC-like metro area. St Louis, San Fran, Oakland, Cincy, Baltimore, etc.
Money is a big factor, far from the only factor (not implying thats what you were saying) |

or maybe people in those areas need to figure out how to be competitive or get out of the market |

nope not really the small markets are just too lazy to figure out a better business model to compete |

San Fran is a great example before they won the WS no one showed up to their games and they were a small market team. Now they've had continued success. So the small market/big market argument is invalid. |

Just curious as to why others feel they can constantly be critical just b/c you don't fit into their Liberace paradigm and sense of humor. |
