I think they will lose very little of the fanbase if any at all. If it's setlled and the Season goes on, by the time the playoffs role around, it will long be forgotten. The League and the players are willing to sacrifice the short term finances for long term financial gain. - MJL
Tell that to small market teams like florida, Nashville, phoenix....i think this hurts them more than anything....Top 10 teams wont skip a beat. |

Simple logic tells you that if this lockout would be disastrous to the small market teams, then the League wouldn't have this approach. They are doing this to aid the small market teams in their view. |

Kimmo is the one guy I'd really like to get rest. Stay in shape, in a sterile gym environment but no need to log extra mileage. - FlyersFirst
In which he will promptly tear a bicept muscle and not be able to play if there is a season.
Why? Because that's how things go for the Flyers. |

I dont think its fair to say that all those small market teams are All in favor of this. It will hurt their brand in the end. |

I think you can pretty much guarantee that all the small market teams are in favor of lower player costs. |

Whether you are right or wrong, that was a pretty unfair response. The poster said that small market teams are not in favor of lower player costs in lieu of losing fans.
Its easy to make an argument when you change what people say. Not cool.

I think the season opens on Black Friday. That's enough time for not only the Winter Classic, but also the lead up stuff(24/7, etc) that bring in money - Jsaquella
I wouldn't mind it but can't help think it will be another full lost season. |

Nothing really seems logical when it comes to the league these days imo. All these ice hockey teams in tropical/dessert climate that are losing money and not having a team in say Quebec makes no sense at all to me. |

How many here aren't fans of Gary Bettmen? Some would have to think that he is bad for the current state of the game. Then again, maybe some understand him and side with his madness. From my understand, both sides have a tough negotiater doing the talking but what is most important, pride or getting the season going? The NHL has held together better then I thought it would since it's last lockout but I also thought we would learn from the last lockout. |

I got home from vaca today and got my tix in the mail. While I was gone I seriously considered pressing them to let me cancel and getting the full money back. They can't hold me to the "contract" when they aren't keeping up their end of it. |
