About now we should be talking about who is going to be the surprise to make the roster, who is not going to make it, How great G is going to play, How bad Bryz is, etc... But no, we are talking about how some players rented the ice to practice and how management are not allowed to go to a charity function. This league and it's players need to take a step back and look to see how bad it looks from our point of view. Such a (frank)ing shame... |

Not sure that Fridge is coaching with the Trenton Titans this year.... - puckhead7
He's still listed as an assistant coach on their website. |

I don't see any reason for any ill will towards Nashville. |

They decided to match the offer and keep thier player. So why do we want to see them sweat? If the Preds do poorly, it's bad for them, other teams, the League, and the fans. It's in everyone's best interest that they and every other team prospers. |

@BizNasty2point0 Fans. The players understand your frustration. But at the end of the day we are fighting for our futures, not yours. That's the reality. - Don'tForgetTocchet
Biz Nasty should be concerned about his life after hockey, b/c clearly he's a complete (frank)ing moron. |

There is a tough balance between small market teams, big market teams, and players.
One thing I haven't heard discussed is in the event of an unrestricted free agent, giving the old team some kind of compensation.
In other words, if Weber didn't sign an offer sheet but instead signed with the Flyers as an UFA next year, Nashville would still get 2 first round picks. They wouldn't come from the Flyers, but would just be added to the end of round 1 in years 1 and 2. It costs the Flyers nothing, but the "weaker" financial and competitive teams can remain somewhat competitive.
This is already done in the NFL to a lesser extent.
Innovative solutions are required, but none seem to be discussed. |

I doubt anything other than money is really discussed until the two sides are close on the money issue

My guess is that you are right. Which is why one would think that a solution that helps address the problems and costs no one any money should at least be discussed. |

It's an idea, although I'm not sure about creating draft picks for the end of a round. Ultimately, though, all other demands are merely considerations compared to the fight for HRR percent split. |

Good Read Bill
My 5yr ask me last night " Daddy When do the Flyers start playing again "??
I said "well it might be awhile " and he said " That makes me sad - I want to see them beat up the Pens " LMAO

I'm hoping the lockout doesn't go past November and we get started, but am I the only one worried that some of our players that signed overseas might get hurt? |

If history is an indication of the future, all our d-men playing overseas will get hurt, and Pronger will not return.
