I am extremely proud to announce that I have been selected as a member of Team USA to compete in the Ice Hockey Masters Division of the Maccabiah Games next summer in Israel. My love for the game started in 1980 with our own Olympic team at Lake Placid and it will be the thrill of a lifetime to pull a Stars and Stripes jersey over my head even if it's at the ripe age of 40. This will be my first trip to Israel, and am looking forward to having an amazing experience with my family. I'm very blessed and beyond excited.

The training starts now.

I balked at the OHL $290 price, the Q is $200 and the WHL is $299

I downloaded each leagues apps during last season.

But in each I'll root for

OHL - Ottawa 67's
QMJHL - Gatineau Olympiques
WHL - Portland Winterhawks

Fantastic, John! Congratulations! Ever since I'd first heard of Roger Neilson running camps there, I've wanted to go - both for the hockey camps and for more personal/religious reasons.

I can't wait to hear all about it.

With such names as Dan Carcillo, Darcy Tucker and Matt Cooke out there, I never thought Recchi would be first to be named in this department and on this board. I also never thought Ryan Kestler would be a 40 goal scorer. I figured him more of a Steve Ott. Good at faceoffs, decent on the Ok and still bug the poop out of opposing players.

I *loved* Mark Recchi when he was here (both times), but loathed him when he left for reasons I'll not go into again right now. Of course, he then played in the Alumni Game with two of the Legion of Doom, assisting on Leclair's goal, and all the bad stuff was (mostly) forgotten. His diving, even in the Orange and Black, irked me. It was more said as a half-joke than anything. I still have my #8 Flyers Recchi jersey in my collection, after all.

I'm supplying the U.S. team with leftover glowing pucks from Fox Sports in order to recapture that 1996 mojo. Israel will be Miracle on Ice II.

not to my knowledge. we had billy jaffee helping with the 18-39 session and then he skated with us during the final scrimmage (he captained the US to silver in 97), but he has no intention of playing this time. they only selected about 8 players from the try out and are going to have to backfill the roster with some recruits. plenty of time.

I'm sure they're a million times better in HD, save that idea to bring all the fans back after the lockout.

That Kesler is a pretty good player, though. I figure folks hate him because he's American.
