Hatcher and Therien should absolutely get some consideration on the list that was offered for 6/7 defenseman. I personally voted for Jimmy Watson and Bob Dailey. - MJL
The Count? I was a just kid when he was a Flyer...but my memory of him is that he was big and slow and not very physical considering his size. I was suprised when so many on HB had praise for him. I'd definetly put Hatcher and Bundy ahead of him. |

Hatcher was a shell of himself when he got here. Playing on bad knees. - Stinkfitz
Very true that he was not the Norris trophy level defender that he was in Dallas, when he got here. But he was still a very effective physical stay at home defender. he used his experience and ability to anticipate plays to make up for his lack of lateral mobility due to his knee condition.

As I understand it they have filed suit claiming they contributed to his death.
"Boogaard's parents, Len and Joanne, are seeking the remaining $4.8 million their son was supposed to earn and an additional $5 million in damages. The NHLPA says that there are no grounds for the claim and have otherwise refused to comment. The allegations in the claim have yet to be heard in court." - PLindbergh31
Doesn't say anything there about blaming them for his death. I'd like to see the facts on the situation. And I personally would need to have them before jumping to conclusions about it.

I was at that game and have the bad memory of Crosby coming out of the penalty box and taking the game over. When healthy Hatch was dominate. Unfortunately he was done when he got here along with Rathje. - Stinkfitz
Hatcher wasn't done when he first got here. He was still effective until his knees got worse.

He was anything but slow. He was dominant at times.

ugh, the Flyers just weren't ready for that first period push by the B's. Leighton sucked, and we were damn lucky to get that JvR goal at the end of the 1st.
Still 40 minutes to go, but I got a bad feeling about this. No way the Bruins blow a 3 zip lead, especially after leading 3 zip in games.

I miss hockey. - BulliesPhan87
Me, too. So mad at the league for not taking the players up on the idea to play under the current CBA until the new one is hammered out.
At least my son's league starts soon and I have three CHL teams I've chosen to root for. |

Watching Game 7 earlier reminded me exactly what we're going to lose out on thanks to the lockout. Unfortunately, junior hockey packages just don't fit the budget.
