it's processed white cheese. is this what you would refer to as "american cheese"? this is important to me as it relates directly to a previous discussion about french toast

yes. that would be considered "White American" - which is one of my favorite cheeses WHEN MELTED (i.e. my go-to for cheesesteaks) but it is DISGUSTING when unmelted.

yes in the case above it was melted as the lady placed it no the egg for the final stages of the frying process.
