Thanks for the updates Bill. At least someone associated with hockey can be relied upon to show up regularly and put forth some product.

I thinking there is a possibility that the Season doesn't start until 2013. The Flyers have exactly 46 games left on the schedule starting in the first game of 2013, on Jan 3rd. History repeating itself and reminiscent of a past lockout.

Is it bad that this is becoming an optimistic appraisal? |

I think it is optimistic. Gives them 2 months to work out a deal. Then they need some time for the players to come back, have a training camp of some sort. have the normal break for the holidays. And the Season starts with the Winter Classic.
I get the sense that this is the best case scenario at this point. |

Is this a good thing for Vasiliev? I guess we don't have to worry about him not wanting to leave russia. |

Maybe guys like timonen won't be playing on one leg in the playoffs if the season starts in January. The playoffs could be really high paced without a half of a season of wear and tear on these guys. |

To think, it's this frustrating and we haven't actually missed any (regular season) games yet. Argh. |

I think we miss regular season time at this point. It's October 2nd and we haven't started camp yet with no agreement in the forseeable future.

I think he's just trying to generate conversation (and site traffic) at this point. The idea of replacement players is interesting (though I'm not interested, I'd rather watch the AHL). |

There's no way we have an 82 game season. It'd be a hockey miracle if it got done that fast. |

Who is going to be the replacement players. Pro players who aren't good enough to be regular NHL players are already in League's such as the AHL, ECHL, etc. young top players are in Juniors. What would it be, beer Leaguers or players below the above levels. I'm sure it would be some really good Hockey. I personally wouldn't want any players of that level donning the O&B and playing games that would count in the standings. |

To be fair, Fehr seemed to package entering a lockout into his strategy as well. |
