Bruins are actually doing refund checks as well as giving a 1% credit on account.

Or you keep it in the account and get 3%.

We took the money back.

I have no stake in this as I am not a season ticket holder. Only pissed that these morons had 6 years to get this done. So I WANT MY $%@#ING HOCKEY!! It would be the most constructive way if every ticket holder in every city would take whatever refund offer is available. It's the same principal as why the government steals the money from your paycheck before you see it. If we had to write a tax check every month like a house payment, taxes in both countries would be half what they are. If people made that connection in their minds, actually how much they steal from us, they would rise up. The politicians would be scared to death and suddenly not need half of everyone's money. This isn't a political statement. Just an analogy to point out if the owner's start writing big checks every month and actually SEE the money bleeding away. The urgency would be stepped up. Guaranteed.

Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate your condescending tone, but as to the highlighted text above, I have one question:

Why would they?

- Atomic Wedgie

What do you think the team would rather have: 15,000 season ticket holders with half on payment plans and half of them not paying on time, or 15,000 season ticket holders with half on payment plans and all of them paying on time?

That sounds right!! Of course, when the lawyers take their 90% cut, each fan will get $50 each, the new price of one beer for the 2013-2014 season! They have to get their money back somehow.
- Predsrhea

That's being awfully generous of them. Usually they collect closer to 95% and all the members of the class would get something like an unsigned replica NHL puck or a 3x5 postcard of a random player [75% chance of a player actually playing, 25% chance of someone who played more than 10 years ago and you have to go look up to realize "oh yeah, he really did exist"].

This is what I got from the Hurricanes today:

Per our last communication on Sept. 27 and in appreciation of your loyalty, these cancellations mean that the following benefits for continuing to keep your money on account as a Season Ticket Holder through the duration of the lockout have officially been activated:
5% simple interest on the money in your ticket account (accrued beginning September 16, 2012 through the duration of a lockout), which can be used toward additional 2012-13 regular season or playoff tickets, or toward your 2013-14 season ticket renewal. (Please note this is an increase from the 3% interest initially mentioned in our Sept. 16 communication.)
10% discount off the season ticket price for the 2013-14 season
5% discount off the season ticket price for the 2014-15 season

I'm leaving my money with them- I get more of a benefit from that than I do trying to stick it to the owners by getting money back.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but I'm guessing you mis-read my post.

From a Leafs perspective, they would rather have 18,800 season tickets sold and completely paid for by August 18th.

That's what they do.

That's what they will continue to do.

Despite Bodiva's condescending post in which she implied that the Leafs haven't yet heard about technology and stuff that can invalidate tickets.

The Blues offered 4 options. You could Get 5% interest on any cancelled games, to put towards other ticket purchases at the scottrade center (Blues or other events) You could get 10% interest on any money you want to put towards the Peoria Rivermen. You could get a full refund month by month, or you could get 1 percent interest and withdraw your money once a month whenever you want.

My friend and I decided to take a refund month by month.

I would imagine jerseys and other hockey related product would be chalked up to hockey related revenue.

I support the Owners so I am letting them "keep" it I even offered to Keep paying but they said no. They are giving any STH 10.25% as a bonus.

Not a better name than the all-girl Russian punk band that got locked up. They win the all time greatest band name ever, which I won't mention because I'm pretty sure it would get me banned.

I have a hard time thinking that the owners are the ones who should be sided with. They had their tools given to them the last time. They still pissed away everything, they still handed out 10+ year deals. I'm missing where this is the players fault? Sure the players are getting more than they need...but who in the poop pays it? Not only do they pay it, they then cry poor after it. I don't get it. In 05 the Players took a huge hit and lowered there salaries by 26% (or whatever the (frank) it was). That was their move to get this thing rolling. Would owners think twice about raising salaries by the same margin? I don't think so. They won the last lockout (which in itself is blamed on the owners, it's not a strike) now they want more? Wtf is up with that?

Isnt that some BS...i think you guys win the my team screwed me hardest during the lockout award
- Isles4fornow

ya after looking at everyone making 5% interest

Am I to conclude from this that you haven't already paid in full for the 2012-13 season?

If my assumption is correct, I don't have a heck of a lot of sympathy for you.

I was required to pay in full by mid-August - and those payments had to start in April.

- Atomic Wedgie

I have half of it paid, we were close to paying the second half around sept 15th, we did not and told them we werent until new cba bc we didn't want our credit card being charged.

I know that during a strike, employees can cross the picket line and leave the union.

Can the same be done during a lockout? Can players leave the union and say that they want to work for an employer?

That might be the fastest resolution. Get rid on unions.

That's what the NHLPA should be doing. Decertify just like football and basketball did. No union = no lockout, no salary cap, no trading players, no draft, all players free agents all the time just like the rest of us, it would be the NHL's worst nightmare.

Cancel the whole season.... Really don't care....dump all hockey related stuff off your twitter accounts. Send these greedy bastards a message. It's the only thing you can do to send a message. Dump players, commentators everything related to the NHL...When they see the mass exodus of fans ignoring them. They'll come back in a hurry. When Bettman see's NHL followers on Twitter drop by about 500,000 should at least cause a little bit of urgency to get things done...
Or you can continue to come here day after day whining about how their all so Greedy.... Boo (frank)ing hoo,

On the contrary, I think Bettman and Fehr both know the fans will be back regardless. After all, we came back last time.

I personally do not understand how the NHL feels in this day and age that this is an ok thing. I know I love my hockey and I enjoy watching my favorite team but I am starting to get fed up with this stupid poop. What greedy people and childish people.. when they are headed in on breakaway do you think they have that thought of "win" for my team? No way, they want to score so that increases their chances to bring in more money. (A clutch player with defense in mind and good stats)... <-- Cha Ching!! That is all they think about. It is truly and utterly pathetic.. Stop trying to sell a sport where the players "love the sport" BS... Do not take us for fools. We know it is all about the money and it is getting sickening. One way or another it is about the money.
