Still dont get why anyone wouldve parted with that much money knowing full well there was going to be a lockout . Couldnt fans have just waited till the lockout was over and then got tickets ? The answer is yes !

I am a Lightning STH. To be honest I have been pleased with my options regarding any money paid for games lost...and yes I have options not just the old "it will be applied to playoff games" as in the past.

Option 1- 10% APR interest in account credit that can be applied to food, beverages, or mdse

Option 2- 5% APR interest in account credit for future tickets

Option 3- Refund of ticket $ plus 1% APR interest

All in all I am pleased with my options and my treatment from the Bolts organization. That being said...Fire Bettman so we can have hockey

- uf1910

Do not forget the free 20 year commemorative hat per ticket holder in option 1; which i chose, tickets already paid for will go to games when they start up.

Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate your condescending tone, but as to the highlighted text above, I have one question:

Why would they?

- Atomic Wedgie

You're right. They have no impetus to. But neither did the Flyers when they instituted it. It was better for the fans, which isn't something a team with a waitlist needs to worry about.

At least Bobby Ryan is not running off to join another league.

"I'm going to continue to skate with the guys," Ryan told the New Jersey Courier-Post. "Whether it's coming back here (to South Jersey) for a couple weeks at a time. I think it's important to stay here (in the United States) and be part of the solution and not just run from it."

There was no reason for a lock out. They could have continued on and work on a deal as the season went on. Players are not going to give in this time like they did last time. I think they should lock the owners out lol

This is what I got originally from the Blackhawks:

2012-13 Full Season Ticket Options Update

• Games have all been numbered 1 to 41 (Preseason games A, B & C)
• If the season is started with the existing schedule, tickets will be honored as originally issued starting with Game Number 1 on October 13 and proceeding throughout the scheduled season.
• If the season is started with rescheduled game dates and/or opponents, tickets will be honored starting with Game Number 1 and continuing through to the end of the revised schedule.
• You may choose a refund or account credit for any cancelled games in your plan.
• Refunds for any cancelled games will include an additional 2% interest.
• We will update you via email and post new information on chicagoblackhawks.com as it becomes available.

As a ticket holder I think they've done what they can here. I have the option for a refund and get 2% which is more than a short term CD would pay. What bothers me most was talking to a bartender at the United Center last week during a concert and he said if the lockout goes the whole season, he will lose about $30K income he depends on and has 2 kids in college. I don't really care about the owners OR the players for that matter right now. It's the working class employees of the teams who are going to suffer the most during the lockout. Just my 2 cents...

- blackhawks30

I agree with you about everyone who depends on these games for their living.

That honoring the tickets based on game number makes no sense and will be a nightly nightmare if there is a season at some point.

Today, I received my refund for the first 2 Pre-Season Flyers' games from September.
- ammo23

Me too. I guess they meant "BY" the 15th of the next month, not ON the 15th of the next month.

Any interest?
- Beatle_john

No. The choice is leave with them for a whopping 2% interest or get refund with no interest.

ahhh poor babies, those marketing employees and sales representatives.. How terrible. The rich fighting with each other... I think I'm also going to cry. You're crazy.
- leeroy45

The ushers, security guys, concession workers, ice guys, parking lot guys, bartenders, waiters, cleaning people. Yeah. They're all rich.

Because if I told MLSEL to jam it until a new CBA was signed, my name would be removed from the season ticket holders' list, and I wouldn't get back on in my lifetime.

Does that answer your question?

I would point out, though, that for a lot of the people listed above, it's not like they are losing their entire jobs.

Most arenas are multi-use facilities. Generally speaking, facilities strive for 200 events a year.

Losing this season will knock off 45 nights, + playoffs.

But as games are cancelled, arenas will be trying to book other shows to fill up those dates.

Are security guys, concession workers, parking lot guys, bartenders, etc taking a hit?

For sure.

But they aren't losing 100% of their incomes.

Really?

MLSEL offered 1% interest on refunds, or 5% interest if they held your money on account.

What is the conversion rate of a schrute buck?
- Gerk

Merch at the Pro Shop, experiences, tickets to concerts, Hockey Bucks (3750 pts equals $25 towards anything sold in arena like beer, food, jerseys, etc.). I got to see ZZ-top and the Summerland Tour for free through the program.

I'm going to go to games regardless after this stalemate is over, so why not take what they are offering since I already have paid in full for this season and the money that is there isn't really hurting me?

I love going to the games and its my night out with the guys away from the family on game nights to drink beer, scream loud, and beat on the rafters and I won't give that up. Honestly, its the nights out with the boys and having a legit excuse that I miss most because of the lockout because its my 'stress release' to keep me level in a house full of estrogen!

I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but I'm guessing you mis-read my post.

From a Leafs perspective, they would rather have 18,800 season tickets sold and completely paid for by August 18th.

That's what they do.

That's what they will continue to do.

Despite Bodiva's condescending post in which she implied that the Leafs haven't yet heard about technology and stuff that can invalidate tickets.

- Atomic Wedgie

You clearly misread Bodiva's comment about how the Flyers allow payment plans, but invalidate tickets when payments aren't made on time. The resulting comment was framed along the lines of, "if the Leafs also allow payment plans and people are struggling to make payments, why wouldn't they do the same knowing there's a slew of people out there on the waiting list who would gladly pony up the cash given the chance?"

If the Leafs don't allow payment plans at all, or if all payments are due by August 18 from all season ticket holders, fine - but your prior posts in no way made that clear at all. I only gathered that your payments were due by X date, not that this was a hard rule for everyone. I suspect I'm not the only person who read your post that way, either.

I didn't misread Bodiva's post.

Everyone needs to pay up by mid-August.

Nobody else seems to be having a problem with my posts.

Is this correct? If so, that's pretty cool, seeing as how if you have DirecTV, you most likely can't see it on ESPN3.

Most events in arenas that large aren't booked with 2-4 weeks notice.

Let's say a building is booked for 250 nights a year (and that's generous), a person is losing 16% or more of their income. Considering these are folks in a demographic that spends most to all of its disposable income, that's a tough chunk of change to do without.

Yes it does but brings up the question of you really attending 41 games of a team thats pretty hard to watch ! Theres no way your not scalping ticks and paying for a bit of the cost no?

Ill just watch from home & save my $$$ for a 14 5 star vacay !

After all id rather look at bikinis than bettman and fehrs ugly mugs all winter
