I won't go that far yet, he is only 15. His start is fantastic but for now I'll keep an eye on how he is doing. - ob18

For the Oilers Jones might be the better way to go they have a ton young forwards already, need to get something on defense. - ob18
They do have some defencemen in the system though. Good as Jones is, he is still a prospect and their problemsstem more from a lack of quality pros and the development curve is longer for dmen. I add in Barkov as another C would be nice. After Nuge we aint exactly stacked there either. |

True, that being said I'd always go best available on the teams board at the time of a selection over fishing to draft for need. |

The oil really have to focus on D-men imo.
Having these top forwards will be great but they wont be able to keep them all under contract in the future years.
Cant be so top heavy and fill the d-core with scabs. |

What bryzgalov said wasn't bad at all.
He isn't even the best goalie on his team and he should shut his mouth and worry about his play. If he is not the best goalie on his khl team, then how can he be an elite goalie in the NHL when they play again.
Don't even get me started on this lockout. I have a really hard time watching/going to any games because of family/work. It is a real effort.
It is pathetic that only about 10 teams make money in this league. If only 10 make money and 10 break even, maybe we only need a 20 team league. Cut the losers loose. Then get back to business. |

It should be a non issue what he says.
After last years nonsense with the media, and his inconsistent season he should have just kept it to himself though. How will it help his cause? You just know when the season starts, and he has a little bit of a rough stretch the reports will come out about him being happier in Russia or some nonsense. The guy gets distracted, and this time he really helped bring it on himself. |

Schultz, Klefbom, Marincin and Gernat in the system to name a few. They've actually made some some draft choices on the blueline, just not ones that could step in right away. and as I said, after Nuge they're not loaded at C and the C prospects don't really blow me away.
Personally though, if they get the chance, Id rather they take Jones. If Whitney could get healthy and stay that way, that would also be pretty big.

Can't disagree with you there either...not happy about any of our options out there. - Manitobakid
I'm perfectly content with Bryzgalov as the goalie. I think he's a very good goalie. He showed he can be dominant late in the season, and even in the playoffs was dealing with an injury that hurt his mobility. |

Yes, he flies in from the US, goes into the year without a camp and struggles in his first couple games and he's not the best goalie on his team.
Brilliant. Let's use one or two games to decide whether or not he's better than the other goalie on his KHL team, when the other guy has been playing behind his team for awhile, had camp to shake off the rust and has been playing in the KHL for a few years, and knows the opposing teams and is used to the style of play.

Are people really that stupid to believe that anything Bryzgalov says has any effect on his on ice performance? Are people really that dumb? |

Yes apparently. And he can't even be the best Goalie on his KHL team! |

There seems to be a bit of confusion about the severity of the injury, or at least the recovery time. Voracek’s agent, former Flyers defenseman Petr Svoboda, told CSNPhilly.com that his client would only miss one week.
