her: the dryer's broken.
me: what do you mean "it's broken"?
her: The clothes aren't coming out dry. I've been drying them for 4 hours.
me: Did you empty the lint trap?
her: Yes. Twice.
me: What are you drying?
her: Two sets of bedding, the duvet, two duvet covers, a few pairs of jeans, all the towels, your work clothes, the baby's blankets, and the covers for the couch cushions.
me: What's in the dryer right now?
her: I just told you.
me: *facepalm* - 3M
Mine also once told me my dryer was broken (because I'm the one who bought it)
*Checks the lint trap, sees about 3 inches of dust in there, shows it to her
her: Oh...I may have forgotten to empty it for the last 2 months... |

They shouldn't teach that in English? Or was your point something else? |

Just something like "Teach them about what happened so it never happens again"

Believe me, that is taught in every single school in Germany. And if you think for one second that the topics are even remotely related, don't reply to this post - it will be better that way. |

I had to show a boarder I had once how to change the lint trap. Yes...a 20-something person had somehow gotten to adulthood and not died due to stupidity. I assumed that every adult knew how to check the trap, but one day when I went to put a load in the dryer, I pulled out about an inch of lint. You could see the layers of different loads that were done. I counted five. The response I got when I asked about whether the lint trap had been emptied?
"I don't know how."
WTF? Don't know how? If you know of the existence of lint traps, you know how to find and change it. Especially when it's one of those lint traps that stares you in the face from the bottom of the opening to the dryer as you load clothing into the dryer. |

I know that it's taught in Germany, as it should in every school around the world.
It was only a jab at those who actually think the separatist movement has dictatorial values. |

No, they spin around and around for several hours, providing me with a rather extensive hydro bill. |
