Simon Gamache, another great talent that has excelled in the NHL...

So did the Victoriaville player I mentioned....I won't say his name since nobody else did. I don't want to ruin the surprise. Check out page one of the comments for a Grigorenko comparison.

But, yeah, with Gamache I'm dumbfounded he didn't work out.

he wont be here to start, the NHL is a whole different Universe than what he is playing in now.

The more I read about the QMJHL, the more it sounds like it's junior hockey's version of the Big XII. where the main marketing slogan is "Defense? What's that?"

i get the sense that you have a picture of Grigo hangin on your bedroom wall that u look at first thing in the morning and maybe give it a lil smooch before bed....lol just playin of course, but ur a on a daily Grigorenko article pace now for every 2 points he gets

i mean Phillip Danault has 20 points in 1 less game...nobody's talkin about him being a number 1 center this year in the NHL

so yes Grigo was a steal in the draft...the rest is early

GP70 G133 A149 P282

This Mario guy must have never had success in the NHL, because according to people in here, apparently if you do well in the Q, you dont have success in the NHL.

This Mario guy, what a chump.

Come on, smarten up. That’s not what has been said. What’s said is that putting up big points in the Q is far from a guarantee that a player will do well in the Q. Now, the truth is, the same can be said of any junior league. But people think moreso in the Q, as scoring is sky high, and it’s easy to put up points. That’s actually not true anymore. I looked at it a couple of years ago, and it’s no different in the Q anymore (at least, wasn’t that year). IIRC, it was actually, surprisingly, the WHL that was the highest when I looked at it.

But you make yourself look silly when you start making Mario Lemieux comparisons. The guy scored almost 300 points in a season, as a 17 year old. He scored more than twice the number of points of anyone in the league that wasn’t on his line collecting points off him. Stop trying to draw parralels, because the parralels between Mario Lemieux stop right about exactly there. That they played their junior career in the Q.

Is it the same Timbits league that Crosby scored 37 in one game, as a 6 year old? According to the post I just responded to, that must mean you have the potential to be an elite NHL player.

Nobody's saying that. They're just saying that success in the Q isn't an automatic indicator of NHL success one way or the other.

He could turn out to be a solid NHl player but Garth and his daily blog on him are raising expectations and he is putting a target on Grigs back.

Patrick roy stats in Jrs were horrible. He played for a bad team where he couldn't really show how good he can be. Many good prospects play for bad teams and don't get a chance to put up the kind of numbers they can. Wait until these kids get to the AHL/NHL...until then, you just never know.

Yes Garth, he is putting up the points. But the fact of the matter is, he absolutely should be dominating every game. any less would be concerning. He is doing his job so far
